  1. The problem it is this: That it exists at all. The US is not developing enough home-grown, US citizen, STEM graduates to fill the demand of US business and industry. This is undermining our technological and economic advantages in the world. (The H1B was created so US business could fill those high-paying positions with non-US citizens.) All the US seems to develop lately is ... lawyers. STEM = Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math
  2. Looker? Have you heard him do the womens games? Maybe I'm spoiled by years and years of Hennessy, but ... pass. I can honestly say I missed Dan Hammer doing UND Football. I'm glad he's back.
  3. Math. Physics. And yeah, engineers.
  4. It is a work visa for workers with technical skills. No, didn't search it and no, not an attorney. If you took the majority of your classes in Upson, Witmer, and Harrington, tests normally were about taking the concepts and principles you were to learn and applying them to problems you hadn't seen or considered before.
  5. And NDSU was better in MBB and VB last year too ... oh, wait ... The better question is "why no football".
  6. In my perfect world the western route that is today I-94 (and was US-10) would run where ND 200 runs today and North Dakota would have two universities: one at Mayville and one at Washburn. Of course, in that scenario Washburn would be "Mino-marck" and Mayville would be "Grand-go". But we don't live in a perfect world. We live in this hyper-policized mess.
  7. And if they aren't playing well? Too easy.
  8. Everyone needs an editor.
  9. UMary (a Catholic university) may soon get even more "swing" in Bismarck. I'm hearing rumors that the Catholic Church may go to one diocese for all of ND and it would be headquartered in Bismarck.
  10. Appears SDSU has made a leap forward on their plans for an indoor facility. http://www.argusleader.com/article/20120803/UPDATES/120803003/Sanford-gifts-10M-SDSU-new-campus-facilities?odyssey=tab%7Ctopnews%7Ctext%7CHome&gcheck=1&nclick_check=1
  11. That is pretty sweet video. I see something different in it every time I watch it.
  12. Montana's transfer has as many collegiate passing attempts as Bartels or Mollberg.
  13. Thus explaineth why no NDSU mens or womens ice hockey. (C'mon Herd, did you forget the "step up" sword has two sharp sides or what?)
  14. You're assuming the Legislature will spend any money on anything. They haven't done it yet for simple, no-brainer things, like fixing roads being torn up by all the new traffic in western North Dakota.
  15. Good to see the NCAA got the address right on that letter.
  16. See here, posts 691, 694-696. PS -- You need to integrate the colors into the logo, like this.
  17. Hope is a town in Steele County. Protect. Protect Hanson for 11 games. Hear that hoggies? And that applies no matter who is on the depth chart or in camp.
  18. That word used ... 'never' ... is a big word.
  19. Good post by you from June, 2010. But I posted the concept in May, 2009. (See posts 26-28 at link).
  20. What UNDBIZ describes has a name: "Publish or Perish."
  21. First it was Montana FB QB issues. Now it seems the MSU Bobcats are having issues: "2 suspended from MSU men's basketball team" http://billingsgazette.com/sports/college/big-sky-conference/montana-state-university/basketball-mens/suspended-from-msu-men-s-basketball-team/article_a0165352-b730-578e-928a-fe090c725d17.html
  22. I'm yet to have a bad meal at any of the Canad restaurants.
  23. More trouble at Montana. Their #1 QB got charged by the DA and suspended from the team today. http://missoulian.co...ugl1Mnw.twitter Based on this post and the previous, they are down to #3 on the depth chart.
  24. With Sanford going into Bismarck (MedCenter1), don't be surprised if Mayo adds an affiliate in that direction.
