There's a nearby team that goes (unofficially) by Thundering Herd ...

How are situations like this supposed to be handled under the code of student conduct handbook at NDSU (or even UND for that matter)? NDSU's: http://www.ndsu.edu/fileadmin/studentlife/PDF_Files/CodeofStudentBehavior.pdf UND's: http://und.edu/student-affairs/code-of-student-life/_files/docs/code-of-student-life.pdf

Apparently, in Washington state, yes. But this is North Dakota, and here voter fraud is an A misdemeanor.
-
Ojuri's traffic issues. Jemison's wardrobe malfunction. Now "voter fraud". And that's just the last few months.
-
Remember: The next problem is always just a lawn mower toss away. What is interesting is Bohl not following the precedent he set with Jemison (also an A misdemeanor). You can say there was more to the Jemison situation that triggered the dismissal, but that just opens the questions of what do or don't we know about these other eight and is Bohl dealing with them comparably.

So blame it on the collegiate/academic culture festering out there today where cheating (lazy, easy way out) and plagarism (or say signing someone else's name and address) is acceptable? Call the Legislature. Tell them their silly "valid petition" and "signed affidavit" laws are out of date.

The AG thinks eight current NDSU FB players are guilty based on an investigation by the ND Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Admittedly, the AG doesn't convict them, only a judge does that, but the AG generally doesn't spend his time filing cases he can't win.

Someone sent me some light reading, some homework, if you will. Interesting document: http://fs.ncaa.org/D...e=REFERENCES_R7 Section 2.d is quite a compelling read: That begs two questions: - Were those lads hired because they were NDSU FB players, namely, recognizable figures due to athletic ability? - Did they perform the work they were paid for (meaning collect signatures)? I don't know the answers because the NCAA would be the ones who would have the answers and I can't figure those NCAA folks out.
-
That would take the teeth out of it quickly.

The fact that of eight named so far are four defensive backs, including two starting corners, has nothing to do with this. Nor does the starting RB and starting LG being another two of the eight. Move along. Nothing to see.

Week 2: Potato Bowl 2012 - UND vs. Portland State
The Sicatoka replied to UND-FB-FAN's topic in Football
Personally, I say let students in for free until the facility is consistently at capacity and general public (full price) ticket buyers are being turned away. At that point you have a good but difficult problem to deal with. -
At the end of each petition form that is turned in is this affidavit section to be signed by the person who circulated the petition: When you take on circulating a petition that's the standard you are held to. It's right there in writing for anyone to read. See: https://vip.sos.nd.g.../initiating.pdf

Kolpack (or was it Izzo) said on radio tonight that what Jemison did was a B misdemeanor and these are A misdemeanors. Did whoever misspeak?

... and Barry and Michelle are pissed.

From: http://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2012-09-04/eight-ndsu-players-face-charges-forging-signatures-ballot-initiativ Either they (a) didn't recognize Mrs. Clinton and tell her not to sign because she's not a North Dakotan, or (b) didn't stop someone from forging Mrs. Clinton's signature. Either way, it's the petitioner's job to keep problems off their petitions. Note: I'm assuming benefit of doubt here, namely, someone other than one of the NDSU FB players wrote "Hillary Rodham, (address) White House".

From the AP story linked at NCAA.com:

The most important part of Darrell's post? That the link is from the NCAA.com domain. Ouch.

Well, the ND Sec of State and the ND AG are UND grads ...
-
C'mon Scott, I've read the other school's board. This is just a conspiracy by UND grads out to get NDSU football players.
-
Uh, no; unless something's changed from his 12:45 pm presser, Bohl is going to legal process play out and those 8 (including 4 DBs and a starting tail back) will play Saturday.
-
Just what we all needed: Another reason for the Legislature to cast the stink-eye toward NDUS institutions. (State laws were broken by student-athletes. Don't think this won't be used by some in the Legislature at a later date. And it will be good for none.)
-
... this time. Hopefully UND student-athletes either (a) understand integrity and what a signature on a legal document means, or (b) are being schooled hard by their coaches about it.
-
These guys were paid to go out and gather signatures (completely legal). However, the AG is claiming they added fraudulent signatures to the petitions they turned in and were caught. http://www.ag.state....ts/09-04-12.pdf Key excerpts: Note: That's the same level of charge that former NDSU linebacker Brendan Jemison faces for his junk out in public "wardrobe malfunction".

It's September in just over 9 hours. Guess it's time to start making sure the important things are prepared and ready for the hockey season in five weeks. Goal celebration? Check.
