WiSioux
UND students and instructors are taught to call back to Grand Forks when something goes wrong.... I hate to say it, but this is no sounding very good for them. I knew of Annette, but not personally. My prayers go out to their families! Cratter
How hard is it to install GPS tracking devices in all the airplanes? I would have thought it would be standard by now.
mikeypat15
How hard is it to install GPS tracking devices in all the airplanes? I would have thought it would be standard by now. All the planes are installed with ELT's, GPS would do nothing with in this situation, and the aircraft does have GPS

Emits a warbling tone on the international emergency frequencies. ELT signals can be received by nearby FAA facilities, aircraft overhead, and search and rescue (SARSAT) satellites. hobosid
Didn't know them personally, but that's really terrible news. Night flying in that region always scared me; there are so many illusions and tricks the light can play on you. I know I've had trouble picking out the horizon up there on some nights. siouxjoy
Adam, I was never given the opportunity to meet you, but I know your last moments were spent doing something you love. Annette, it was great seeing your huge smile while you were helping out at Vacation Bible School; it will be missed. Now both of you can spend all of your moments soaring above the clouds. May God grant your friends and family comfort during this difficult time.

Sioux-cia
I just heard tonight that an Eagle Air crew, I knew two of them, were killed October 4th near Alamosa, CO on their way to pick up a patient. The pilot had no history of accidents, incidents, etc. in 27 years of flying. Damn......
