Sabres/Wild Game at the Ralph

Ok, I'm biased, but I don't think all NHL games are boring. I've never seen a Wild game that wasn't boring though.

It's all style of play. I've never seen New Jersey play either but their defensive style may make them like the Wild live: boring.

I watched Washington and Detroit square off a few years back and it certainly wasn't boring. It was back and forth hockey with great shots, great saves, great hits, and great goals. And this was the first place Wings taking on a poor Capitols team.

I hoped Buffalo's style of play would have made it more interesting, but apparently I was wrong.

Good news on the score though. They're now capable of 2 goals per game.

Wild Hockey: M E D I O C R E mediocre mediocre GOOOOOOOOOO MILD! ;)

Good points, I haven't seen a game live that didn't involve the Wild. I would love to see two wide open teams square off.

In fairness last season I saw the Redwings play at Chicago and that was like watching Paint dry. I also saw Pittsburgh in San Jose and that was boaring EXCEPT when Sid was on the ice.

I was at the game also! I gotta problem with them Taco-n-a-bag things...

We sat pretty hign up so it was nice to see a different view, during the WCHA season were 10 rows up behind the visitors goal in the 1st/3rd period...

It's impossible to compare the excitement level of a NHL Preseason game and Sioux game...I'd say 80%+ of the people there for the Wild game were just there for something to do, whereas, you have to fight to get Sioux Tix...

I was a teaser game for me, and I can't wait...Plus we had been Duck Hunting all weekend and started to fall asleep in the 3rd Period...

How many Day's Till...

i also thought it was a very boring game. but i got a question. does anyone happen to know what the song was called when the wild scored a goal? i thought it was a good song

As a Wild Fan I thought it was a good game, it was more exciting in the third period. Josh Harding looked really good for the Wild in Goal. We sat right behind the penalty box and I couldn't believe how great a seat that was. Right on top of the action. Brain Rolston's two shots that resulted in goals were flat out amazing. I was disapointed that both teams were filled up with a lot of minor leaguers and people that won't be with their clubs when they start. Former MTUer John Scott is huge and looked pretty good, I could see him playing with the Wild, he is better than that Belle player.

No one should be shocked at this... Comeon the Wild are not boring to watch. Your letting your Redwing bias clowd your judgement. This year a few of the Red Wings are going to need their ARP cards...

Are you serious?

What you're basically saying is that I'm letting my bias towards watching the Sioux playing style cloud my judgment over how great it is to watch DU or UW play.

The Red Wings have been getting younger (though we just can't seem to rid ourselves of Chelios or Hasek) actually. But they play a style of game that is up and down shootem up hockey that's exciting to watch.

If hockey were a game of chess, that would be a Wild game. Move a guy here...wait for the other team to make a move, then move a guy there....shoot, they scored. There goes a pawn.... retaliate by moving E6 to E4.... YAAAAWWWWWNNNN

I'd rather have an up and down game of competing offenses with great saves and back and forth action than a well strategized 1-0 snoozefest. The Mild only take risks every so often and they don't invest in scoring. The Red Wings take risks every few minutes and invest heavily in scoring.

I went up and saw the Wild dismantle the Blues B squad 7-0 last night. The wild put on an absolute passing clinic. 3-4 goals were absolutely beautiful.

Porter got huge minutes, but didn't do much. I suppose it is hard to look good when you lose 7-0. He certainly has NHL speed and strength. Porter played on a top line with Ryan Johnson and Hinote. The PK numbers were not good for St. Louis but Porter did a very nice job on the PK. He took face-offs on the PK and did well. He did look a little tentative, and never pulled out the patented golf swing clear on the PK. Based on what I saw, I think Porter has a shot with the team as a 3rd of 4th liner. His biggest value is probably as a PK specialist.

EJ did play and I am sure he is going to be a top NHLer for a long time. His skating and strength were noticable. However, in this game he absolutely sucked. He showed poor decision making skating the puck in and attempting a cross ice pass with only one defender back. Gaborik easily stole the puck and fed an open Dimitra who scored.

First off Watching DU and UW is boring hockey and I would rather watch the Wild play than those said teams. Secondly, I think we are going to agree to disagree, I find the Dead Things to be very boring...
