So, the US getting thee 2030-31 WJC. They will put it back in Buffalo again.

We know it won’t be the twin cities. If I remember right Buffalo had good attendance

I remember it being bad both times. They do hold the largest attended game though.

I've heard Vegas could be the choice this time

Has Michigan ever held it? Detroit and Windsor Ontario are separated by a bridge

No, only hosted 6 times

US hosted in 2025 (Minnesota), 2018 (Buffalo), 2011 (Buffalo), 2005 (Grand Forks), 1996 (Massachusetts), 1989 (Anchorage)

1982 and 1975 both Canada and US hosted in Manitoba and Minnesota (Fargo in 1975) - (This doesn't count as the US hosting)

When you look at average attendance, outside of Canada, there is no reason Grand Forks can't host.

Fun Fact: Germany hosted in 1992, West Germany in 1981

Thanks

I am surprised about US and Canada both hosting. The Massachusetts in 1996 was held at UMass, Lowell, Northeastern, and BC (medal round only)

I would normally laugh at Canadas misfortunes, especially given it’s Czechia for the third year in a row, but with our NoDak boys on the team I want them to win and be happy

I’m still pulling for Czechia.  UND’s WJC representation can commiserate together 🙂

admit I'm a little torn too...want to see the UND guys for Canada win but Czechia are - to quote Rastislav "Sparky" Spirko - "skating their balls off!"  Nice to see some new blood in the gold medal game.
