He is kinda a Neidermaier. You notice the offense and transition and don't notice the dzone, reason being he doesn't screw up the dzone. Schultz is probably the best 200 foot forward in the world for 2010s. He's kinda a Bergeron player. Pue is the best pure goal scorer for 2010s. I think he's Pastrnak comparable. Thompson is a pace driven center. He is very smart 200 feet and skates in the top 10 in the world for the birthyear (speed and edgework). Kinda a Dylan Larkin. There’s another dman who’s been coming on really strong lately…he’s always been really good but not in the Daley/Dozark convo. Parker Deraney…I know he has strong GF ties, etc. That’s all been discussed. i watched a bit of the 5 nations and I was fairly shocked at how good of a two way player he is. He’s not Daley offensively and he’s not Thorson defensively (nor the absolutely physical freak that Thorson is) but he has high end IQ. Super translatable skills on the way up level to level. I’d be blown away if he doesn’t commit here. 3 Quote

Just a pure guess though just thinking we would have been a favorite if so. We shall see if Fersch is still there by the time he is ready to matriculate. Playing in the same conference as UND probably factored into his decision. Quote

yzerman19 Posted Wednesday at 06:05 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:05 PM Carter Morris, Mason Schemenauer, Will LoSauro also in that elite tier of player...I don't know how "experts" grade a kid 1 vs 3 vs 9 vs 14. I just know the kids that I see as having the tools and the intangibles to be elite college players and possibly the NHL. 3 Quote

Fratt Mattin Posted yesterday at 06:10 PM Posted yesterday at 06:10 PM Ethan Sung to Wisconsin. That’s a good get for them. His size will probably hold him back in the pros, but I think he will be a very good 3-4 year college player. Great offensive toolkit. Quote

He's like a smaller version of Kawaguchi. It'll probably take him a couple years to get used to playing against bigger/older/stronger players, but he'll be a great JR/SR. 1 Quote

Really curious as to who our main targets are currently? I would imagine Schultz, Pue, Cripps, England and Thompson. Quote
brianvf Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Sounds like SGC heading there too for next fall. Filling up their holes already, since they'll lose Schifsky, Perron, and Moldenhauer for sure and probably Hage and Horcoff as well after this year. Quote

Can confirm that Gordon Carroll was a big North Dakota target, just don't know if Chyzyk/Jackson had room for him 1 Quote

Already a very elite group of five forwards coming in with Ruck, Ruck, Williams, Sanderson, and Fitzhenry. McKamey and Jundt waiting in the wings as possibles too if they have big seasons in the WHL...although still guessing both of them get pushed to 28/29. Only senior forwards are Triple M group of Menghini, Magnussen, and Malinoski. Reschny will sign early. Zellers a possibility too, but still holding out hope he comes back for JR season. Quote

In this scenario, there would be no room for uber-elite England if he decides to go the college route next year & he prefers UND; and highly doubtful the coaching staff would turn him away because there wasn't any space for him. Someone would have to portal-out or a guy like Williams would have to be dropped/pushed back to make room for a guy like England to go to UND. Quote

In the free agent portal era, we need to assume a few players move on annually for more ice time. We are too deep to retain everyone. Quote

Cooper Williams seems like one to watch this year with how his year goes in the WHL. He seemed to be a guy slotted to play likely in the top 6 at UND but if he’s not ready to jump in and make an impact it changes things Dane and staff seem to be really narrowing in on guys that will jump in and make an impact from day 1 up and down the lineup. Really good example is them taking Connor Davis this year instead of bringing in Pilgrim, etc. Quote
