Dayne Beuker is still uncommitted and was third on Schloss’ list. It’s going to be interesting to see when he commits. It seems like UND is hard after him. He does not follow any college hockey accounts that I had noticed other than Bryn.

Of the NTDP 2008s, the only uncommitted players are Wyatt Cullen (likely to commit to Michigan State on August 1), Luke Carrithers (not a great goalie), Brady Knowling (not a great goalie), and Dayne Beuker. Everyone else of that NTDP team has committed now.

This might be a dumb question but is there any chance Beuker is not eligible to commit until August 1st? He would be an old junior this year with a March 2008 birthdate.

Nope. He's been eligible to commit since last year. He's (essentially) Canadian as he grew up in Saskatchewan & all Canadian 2008s graduate HS in 2026. IIRC, Beuker & his advisor/family wanted to take a measured, patient approach about where to commit for the NCAA.

Considering that goalies at 17, 18, 19 years old are complete projections & most are wildly guessing on pro potential, most 15 year old goalies are even bigger unknowns. They'd have to put up godly numbers in minor/HS/Prep hockey to really be on the radar of the mainstream

Assuming DuPont does go NCAA, I'd be quite surprised if he doesn't end up at Denver, North Dakota, or Michigan.

Maybe Michigan State, Boston College, Boston University, Penn State make a serious push for him, but I really think it's one of the 3 I mentioned.

I agree. 
 

Both of his parents follow UND hockey. His mom just follows CC and Minnesota State, which are non factors. I do not know about other schools that his dad follows because he is private. 
 

The big question mark for him and UND is Keaton Verhoeff, imo. That may help our chances, it may hurt our chances.

There's pressure knowing you have to hit home runs in recruiting every year, but you love having that high standard. New staff is poised to have a big August 1 cycle.

I think we’ll still see those teams who recruit 4 year players have more success in the postseason. It’s more important than ever to balance your roster.

Not disagreeing with ya there. Gotta balance your roster with an elite plan every year. There's a reason why Denver has won 5 National Championships since Minnesota won their last.

With the player pool of elite players growing now with the CHL, in the future I wouldn't be as surprised to see a team with more young talent be able to beat some of the older teams come tournament time. (IE if you have the team that BU did this year + 2 more high end players from say the OHL contributing, that could be enough to push a team over the hump to beat an older team like Western) Agreed though, that you still need a full complete roster built with the right guys each year to be a threat at a title.
