Jackson Smith 11-43-54 plays D not much room for him this year if he wanted to go NCAA

You take him if available. However I could see him playing another year in the dub. 6’3” 190 as an almost 18 year old. Thats a blue chip.

Some American boys who would normally play in the USHL are opting to play in the CHL. Curious to see which league's talent pool will be more negatively impacted in the long-term.

Winterhawks got Luke Christopherson to sign recently as well. 3 MN kids is like a decade worth under the previous rules.

What ever happened with USHL teams trying to switch to the O?

USHL will be diluted more for sure.  Its that next Tier though...the NAHL and the Junior A teams in Canada that are really going to hurt.  The WHL draft coming up in 2 weeks will be very interesting with the new rules.  As a result the US Draft will likely be significantly different than years past.

Curious how the new nhl/USA hockey/ushl agreement will impact its competitiveness with the CHL leagues. I know no finer details of the agreement other than funding. But it would seem as though it would lift that league a bit in the intermediate term.

Yeah, I haven't heard details on that deal either.  I know that the NHL provides development money, and historically that money went to the NTDP, but I don't know the latest and am not in tune with how the funds flow in any detail.
