If the season continues to go in its current trajectory for UNO, does the leash get tighter for Gabinet?

I don't see him going anywhere. They hired him to not spend money for Hastings, who wanted the job. I don't know if Omaha still has the money issues they had when they hired Gabinet.

To me, it would be awfully frustrating being a Mavericks fan right now. Eight seasons and only two tournament appearances and I don’t believe they’ve advanced to St. Paul in the years they’ve had home ice. They seem to get decent talent each year but don’t live up to expectations (sounds like us the previous few years).

They have only made it to St. Paul once in the NCHC. They have made it to St. Paul (NCHC) and Detroit (CCHA) once each.

Or.... actually pay for the content.

The Athletic is a pay site, $71.99 a year. It's well worth it.

Here's a quote from the article. (Link)

Quote

“I hope that it becomes less of a transactional business than where it got to. The best part of being a college coach is you get to recruit families, coach them, understand what their hopes and dreams are, help them try to reach them, and then see them move on and go chase those things. And I think the way that NCAA hockey is operating right now is kind of the opposite of that right now, and I hope it gets back to it,” said an NCHC coach. “It’s still a people business.”
