Found clarification on the portal exemption when there is a head coach change.

Quote

The portal is open from March 30 to May 13. Players can commit to schools after the portal closes.
Graduates can enter at any time.
Players who have had their aid cut or had a head coaching change have 30 days to enter if it's outside of the transfer window.

So essentially it won't change much at all on timing for UND players to enter the portal due to Berry being fired last Sunday.
We'll see how this all shakes out.

Not necessarily. The only recruits that were ever confirmed for next year are Klee, Zellers, Laurila and Zakreski. Others are options, but decisions on them being here next season are still tbd.

Losing MacDonald opens another spot for a current committed recruit, a new (CHL) recruit, or someone from the portal. The roster construction will be fascinating, as others could leave in the portal or turn pro like Livanavage and James

He has the typical things ASU goals have to work on, they over commit to shooters. He relies on his size for saves. He lost the starting position early to Luke, I get why Powers played him from time to time but Luke was better. He should have 2 years eligibility left.

I’m assuming ASU has a pile of “back door” portal transfers already worked out and that’s why we’re seeing all these ASU portal entrants. They lose a ton of SR/GR players from this year, plus four portal entrants already.

I think they are bringing in 2 goalies next year. Three looked like they were extras or barely played.

The portal works both ways. They had a Fargo kid and his dad said Powers pushed him out--basically telling him to transfer or watch games from the stands.

He had 5 points in 25 games at Augsburg this season. He was never going to contribute on the D1 level.

I don't disagree and I thought it was strange that ASU offered him in the first place, but he was less than complimentary about Powers and how he treats players.

When UND played ASU, ASU won 4-1 with Homer Gibson in net. UND won the next night 4-3 with Luke in net. That weekend, Gibson looked like the better goalie

Homer’s numbers look great
