I’m not saying they will, I’m saying they should/need to. 1st-3rd rd talent. Someone highly offensive.

Chyzyk will likely have a solid Plan B if McKenna falls through. A good GM won't put all his marbles into 1 player.

I found it more humorous that a website ranked BGSU recruiting class #1 in the nation. Especially when we don’t know how any of these mid level CHL players will adapt to NCAA hockey. Or the fact that the recruiting season is still months from being over for this fall.

McKenna already fell through dude. He’s going to Michigan.

Coming from a guy who can't wait for the MN collective to start raiding UND's roster, everything you say here is suspect from a loyalty standpoint.

Dennis Williams will build Bowling Green back into a top end team in the CCHA very soon. Whether or not it works in Year 1 of CHLers being eligible, we'll see, but it will happen.

It's one thing to build to a top end team in the CCHA and a contender for top teams in the country.  Raboin already built Augustana into a top end team in the CCHA, so a few recruits here and there should put you toward the top end of the CCHA.

Neutral-zone is a terrible ranking site…even when we’re way up there it’s super flawed. Quantity is heavily weighted.

It's awful, "ratings" strongly influenced by popularity and by how many organizations they can tag in their social media posts. It's just an ego stroker site to fleece the academy and AA parents of another monthly fee.  Its Jet magazine of the modern day youth hockey.

His point is valid however. McKenna isn’t  coming to UND.

If NIL was not a thing and the CHL had opened 5-10 years ago, I would absolutely think UND would be in the running for guys like McKenna and Misa. These guys will get more money individually than UND has in its entire hockey NIL budget just to play one year.

It's a fun fantasy to Ifs&Buts over but yeah....   It's not happening

Then what is he waiting for? If it is a done deal with Michigan, why wait? It should have nothing to do with him still playing in the playoffs. Not sure why that would affect an announcement/commitment.

Maybe he doesn't want to bring any unnecessary distractions, just a thought.

Byron Ritchie (Ryder's dad) stated in an article written by The Province (British Columbia publication) that McKenna hasn't made any visits to any universities and they haven't talked about the realistic possibility of going to the NCAA in 2025-26. They're waiting until the season ends, which could be a few more weeks as Medicine Hat is in the Dub Final (very good chance they win & get to the Memorial Cup). Ex-Canuck Byron Ritchie helping Gavin McKenna decide on WHL/NCAA route | The Province

From what everyone has said, it would seem that Ryder Ritchie and Gavin McKenna will be a package deal if they go to the NCAA. With Ritchie being a Minnesota Wild pick, I think they're 100% supportive of him going to the NCAA for a couple years instead of being rushed into the A at age 20. The Iowa Wild are such a mess right now & if the Wild can delay Ritchie's pro ETA while they sort things out in Des Moines, the better.

Pay attention to the news and you’d know why.

Don't have to be an asshole about it, but glad your college hockey knowledge makes you feel superior.

I come to a college sport forum for my hockey new ... it's pretty low priority overall. I'll keep my focus on actual new and my kids sport, but again, appreciate the jackassery.

Fair point. I just don't think of that as something that would be overly distracting if the decision was already made, but maybe so.

I also do not see this new regime targeting these “one and done” type CHL players. Obviously if you have a shot at these guys, you’re going to take it. Mckamey is a guy that could get drafted high, but he is coming a year early so he most likely will be playing for 2-3 years.

That's why you are seeing a number of the high-end ones giving a silent commitment. From what I've been told Misa hasn't given anyone commitment, but he may go straight to the national league.

Is there any other guys you know of? I feel like a guy like Carter Bear would make sense for both sides. He’s Winnipeg kid but likely won’t be able to play until after Christmas.

Not being an asshole, it’s just been said by every news outlet, schlossman, and this board 1000x’s

Bowling Green, St Thomas and Clarkson all outrank the entire Big Ten, and all of the NCHC outside of Miami? If the barstool guy knew anything about college hockey he wouldn't have included the top 10 in his article and just screen-shotted the top 3 from the site.
