I recall him from a game in 2006-2007 in Minot. DL vs Minot. I believe the penalties were like 8 or 9 for DL and 0 for Minot late into the 3rd. Ole Al Henry called him over to the bench and threatened to rip his head off . I don't think he gave out another penalty after that and DL won on a penalty shot either really late in the 3rd or maybe even OT. The kid from DL who scored the penalty shot was wearing 2 different skates because he had to borrow one from a teammate due to getting slashed so hard on a breakaway that his tuuk shattered and the blade flew off. Kind of a funny memory. Quote

I played some men's league with him many years ago, nice guy, has his moments as an official. Quote

Ufda I wasn't sure anyone would beat Eric Meland's EDC 45 goal mark from 2007-2008 since even Grant Johnson never even broke 30 in his historic runs. But it looks like Mattern will easily beat it at this current pace (27 goals in 13 games). Quote

WF appears to be a completely different team at this point. 9 game win streak, scoring 5+ goals every single game. They must've changed something because things are clicking and they figured out how to better utilize a player like mattern. Quote

Had no idea lol. anyone that has officiated a game of his has wanted to T him up - fact - Carts just had the balls to do it - seen Little Schmitt do it too Quote

Happened to me in Grand Forks when I was coaching the Blue Jay girls. Shook the refs hands and said in my 30 some years of coaching I've never reported reffing crew and you will be my first. When we got to the locker room my assistant coach said one of the refs told her to tell I'm suspended for the next game. I waited by the refs room to get an explanation but never came out. I did report them and nothing happened Quote

No calls. With that said when I told the refs I was reporting them I did it in a calm matter even though I was pissed. Pretty gutless on their part Quote

SiouxFan100 Posted Thursday at 09:39 PM Posted Thursday at 09:39 PM Saw some fifth graders boys play at Moorhead last weekend- my first time seeing that age group play. I was impressed with level of play. It was real hockey. Was fun to watch. Quote
Wilbur Posted Friday at 03:04 PM Posted Friday at 03:04 PM Central proved again that they are the top team in the state. Its going to take a goaltending performance for someone to knock them off at the state tournament this year. I watched bits and pieces of Sheyenne and Davies. Not often do you score shorthanded on a 5-3 PK, but Sheyenne did. And they blocked a number of shots on the PK, as they were shorthanded a lot during the game. Big win for Bottineau at the lumber dome. Gives Jamestown a path to possibly getting the 3 seed at the WDA tournament. Quote
