Sources: Austin, Texas throws its hat into NHL expansion ring as franchise fee hits $2 billion

This was interesting to read. He says 5 cities (Austin, Atlanta, Houston, Indianapolis, and New Orleans) are being discussed to the BoG, also Arizona getting a team again. If another team is in Canada, I see it being in the GTA and not Québec City.

Kansas City needs to be #1  for an expansion team

How many teams do we get to before the talent level gets wattered down?

The vintage Scouts jersey in my closet says yes. Natural rivalry with the Blues. I'd be ok with ATL too. Think PHX is a decent market with ownership doesn't fall into the retarded IQ category.  Austin? NO? Indy? Just stop.

If they would have built the arena at Arco now the ASU-SkySong and not Glendale the team would have worked in Arizona.

The reasoning for Austin is like Vegas be the first there. I'd take Portland over Indy.

MONTREAL (AP) — Ken Dryden, the Hall of Fame goaltender who helped the Montreal Canadiens win six Stanley Cup titles in the 1970s, has died after a fight with cancer. He was 78.

The Canadiens announced the death, saying Dryden’s family asked for privacy.

“Ken Dryden was an exceptional athlete, but he was also an exceptional man,” owner Geoff Molson said. “Behind the mask he was larger than life. We mourn today not only the loss of the cornerstone of one of hockey’s greatest dynasties but also a family man, a thoughtful citizen and a gentleman who deeply impacted our lives and communities across generations.

Minnesota Wild star Kirill Kaprizov rejected an eight-year, $128-million extension Tuesday, sources told insider Frank Seravalli.

The contract would have been the biggest in NHL history in total money and average annual value ($16 million), Seravalli notes.

Kaprizov is set to become an unrestricted free agent next summer and became eligible to sign an extension July 1. Last week, Wild owner Craig Leipold said he was confident they would reach an agreement soon and predicted that Kaprizov's contract will likely be the richest deal in league history
