Popular Post Fighting Sioux Hockey
I was going through some of my parents' keepsakes and found the end of the year section from the Grand Forks Herald recapping the 1979-80 Championship season . I figured some of you guys would like it. I can upload the pictures individually here too or to some other website. I don't post much so I don't know what is most convenient. Let me know if this Imgur doesn't work or if you guys would prefer something else. https://imgur.com/gallery/cEfw6aD Edited April 29 by Fighting Sioux Hockey Misspelling

Because the world’s largest tractor and a TV from 1980 weigh the same.
farce poobah
Thanks for posting! Brings back a lot of great memories. First week of school, fall 1979, and at a party where Doug Smail and Mark Taylor were both there. (Neither drinking, by the way.) I expressed surprise that Team Canada hadn't been smart enough to pick them for their Olympic Team, and both of them gave wry smiles, and said something to the effect of 'we will show them they made a mistake'.
Big A HG
The Hobey Baker Award was one year too late for Mark Taylor. He would have been an easy choice that year.

It's comforting to know that your own memory of that experience is not clouded by the effects of alcohol.

The WCHA POTY was Tim Harrer of the Gophers, another in a long line of Gopher forwards who never got close enough to his own goalie to even say hi. 6 hours ago, Blackheart said: He was named POTY by the Sporting News I believe. Sounds vaguely familiar. He may have benefitted in national media by being Cyclone Taylor's grandson.
