Not much has come out regarding the Ivy League's motivations behind this wrestling move. However, I'm told the vote was unanimous (8-0), including Dartmouth and Yale voting in favor. That's significant because those schools do not have wrestling programs and have generally abstained from wrestling-related votes.

However, they both have hockey programs.

Could this signify a shift within the Ivy League as a whole? Were those votes a show of support for the Ivy League to consolidate in other sports (i.e., hockey)?

We don't know.

This would be interesting to see if other non-hockey Ivy schools would be for the move.

Hahaha came here to post something to the same affect.

As much as UNDs pp irritates me, so glad it's not Omaha's. Can't get in the zone for the whole pp is just bad.
