geaux_sioux Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 We have a ton of guys that need to transform their bodies this winter. Here is where I think all guys that are at least rsfr should be by next year. Tank should gain 10-15 lbs and get above 300. Cieslak should lose 10-15 and be about 280. Same muscle, just a little quicker and leaner. Greer should add at least 10 lbs to help him hold up inside better. Rastas should gain 20 lbs minimum. Cam Hunt should add 10 lbs. Canady should add 15 lbs. Wilson needs to add 30 lbs. He's got a nice burst but is tiny for a 3-4 DE. Bennett needs to add 20-25 lbs. Has unreal potential but needs to be around 270 by the time he's done here. Turner with 15 lbs added could be a real player if he stays at OLB. Lawrence needs to get up to at least 210. He's a nice player but just needs to get bigger. Haas needs another 20 lbs. Tons of space on his frame. At 240 he could cause some problems on the edge. Palmborg needs 10-15 lbs. He's got great speed outside but is still a little light. At 230 he could do some damage. Richman should drop 10 lbs to improve his quickness. Torrey could use 10 lbs. He's still pretty skinny and it would help him against the run and in press. Tamas should add 10 lbs and learn how to tackle. He injured his shoulder on every hit this year. Leach needs to add 40lbs to his right leg so he can hit some bombs. Tobin needs 15 lbs so he can hold up inside. Nguon could use 10 more lbs. Rooney - 10 lbs. Blair needs a good 30-40 lbs or to switch positions full time. Russo - 15lbs. Mortel needs 10-15 lbs. Santiago could use another 10 lbs. Fiedler needs 15lbs of arm meat. All TE's should be over 250 unless they're some hybrid wr freak. Wanzek needs another 20 lbs. At 6'4" 220lbs he would be faster and much harder to handle. I'll compare this wish list to the fall camp depth chart next year and we'll see where we're at. I firmly believe that if we get these kinds of across the board gains we would be a much tougher team to play against. Quote
shep Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 I like all of this, but do I read this right, that you think Rooney is to LOSE 10 or is the - 10 an indication he needs 10? How difficult is it for a guy like Rastas to add that much? Quote
UND Dood Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 I like it also. Watched some of the USD-NDSU and SDSU-Ill St. games. The players, especially the lineman on both sides of the ball seem bigger, stronger and faster than our guys. Keep building Hawks! 1 Quote

Everyone has the ability to overcome their metabolism, it's just not very fun. Quote

Maybe some of the Money they saved from not buying the Team rings this year should be spent on a full time Meal planning Nutritionist. Most of the top programs will tell you this is where you can truly make a difference. Individuals can try on their own but a professional can adjust the qty and quality of the inputs to get maximum gains. These young men get so busy with Training, film, academics etc that it can be tough to have the time to properly meal plan. I know for fact that most quality FBS programs have custom meals peeped for the players who need that assistance. Quote

They are capable of buying/selling/using drugs on the extreme bad side of things and they are certainly aware and capable of taking care of themselves on the other side, nutritionally. Most of this is 9th grade health class....... I could see bringing someone in for an "eating clinic", but I don't want to get to the point where we have to wipe these kids' asses, too. 1 Quote

He said earlier this year he wanted to add 30 lbs and no less then 20lbs. Like what I'm hearing there so lets see if he can do that. I just hope the rest of the guys have the same mindset. Quote
Great white Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Settle for what you have then, why do you think this is such a waste? Talk to the professionals and you will find there are many who have hidden allergies to things like Whey, Grains, Citrus. Things that inhibit the proper digestion and extraction of the nutrients required. This is no longer the days of 2 plates of pasta and a gallon of ice cream. for breakfast. Quote
