Fedorov Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 Rumor has it that Gonchar's profile showed up on the Toronto Maple Leaf's website. There have been rumors about the trade being done, but nothing official. Zach could be safe from a trade. Quote

There have been rumors about the trade being done, but nothing official. Zach could be safe from a trade. Yep, Gonchar didn't suit up for Florida last night. Word is the Caps will get Colaiacovo, a 1st round pick, and another player (the Caps want Staijan, but the Leafs think that's too much) for Gonchar. No offense to Zach, but Colaiacovo is a bit higher currency than Parise -- more likely to be a quick impact player, IMHO. Shopping Gonchar around seems to have upped the price successfully. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 Gonchar's a Bruin. Parise's rights stay with NJD. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=74738 Quote
ScottM Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 On a related note, the Devils were just bought by a NY investment banker, who plans on keeping current management. As well, he's also lobbying for a new barn in scenic DT Newark ... well, with substantial state and local monies to foot the deal. Presumably, Parise will remain a Devil in the future, unless he's been to Newark ... and then he'll probably demand a trade to Columbus. Quote
TC_transplant Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 That goes without saying. I think, if DI trading was allowed, every team in the DI would trade their entire teams plus incoming recruits for Zach. That's so true. Then they'd be able to win a national title. Quote
dagies Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 That's so true. Then they'd be able to win a national title. Granted your team didn't miss him last year but they could use someone like him this year. Quote
