None of their athletic teams except fb even win now. Right now you can see the focus at NDSU is enrollmment growth, adding degrees, new buildings. Sports will always be important at SU. Getting to 25000 FBS is the main goal for now.

Using leftover bleachers to cut costs, yeah that’s a step towards 25,000 FBS. Also don’t look at the city to spend money on a stadium we have to deal with rising property taxes, added specials, and a thing called a diversion. Don't worry Darell they just opened up the Legacy Fund. Just in time to help with all the things you just mentioned. To the victor go the spoils. The top 2 politicians in the state are from Fargo. Enough said.

How much money has Al Carlson brought home the last 5 years when everyone else has had to make cuts. I'd bet over 3 billion. 3 Billion maybe a stretch 1 billion to fight the Red is about right on. Just because they help with that doesn’t mean us Fargo voters would waste more money on a stadium when the Fargodome is doing just fine.

I suggest the powers-that-be change the name to "Fighting Scouts" with a Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery themed logo(s). "Fighting" is particularly appropriate in this case since the expedition was comprised of members of the US Army. "Corps of Discovery" should also be used as secondary marking (on signage, uniforms, publications, merchandise, etc.). This would be much more relevant to the state, as they spent more time in what would become North Dakota than in what would become any other state, and much more marketable. Fun fact - the ND state highways that runs along the east and west sides of the Missouri River are designated "1804" and "1806", respectively, to commemorate the years Lewis and Clark went up the Missouri and came back on their return.

moser53
To borrow $ from the Legacy Fund would both the house and senate have to vote to approve it first? Once approved a city would only have to deal with the State Bank not stand up in the house and justify your need for $. Pretty slick. How many cities are going to add debt to their bottom line. Borrow $ hard times come and the local people have to raise property taxes to pay the state back. If you see a certain city borrowing a ton of $ from the Legacy Fund grab as much as you can. When nobody is paying it back what are they going to do foreclose on you.
