As with most kids that height that go to mid-majors, they obviously both need(ed) work coming out of high school. However, there is clearly a difference in what college coaches are seeing in terms of potential. Just like everything else, recruiting is a crapshoot, only time will tell how it pans out (for both players). I agree the Dickinson kid doesn't look like a D1 player, but he doesn't look any worse than Werner did at the same point in his development. Quote

UND Fan Posted April 17, 2016 Author Posted April 17, 2016 New offer: SF Simon Wright, 6'6", Minnetonka (Hopkins), MN Has offer from Providence (not sure if it is valid as it was offered in July of '14) Quote
UND Fan Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Two new offers yesterday (both to NE prospects): SF David Wingett, 6'7", 185, Winnebago, NE Has offers from TX-Rio Grande Valley and SDSU (also offered yesterday). Scored 29/game last year. Winnebago is a town of less than 800 so I suppose they play at the smallest level of BB in the state but he must be pretty good. PF Logan Strom, 6'8", 240, Norfolk, NE Has offers from IUPUI & SDSU. It would be great to get a PF of this size. He does shoot the 3 pretty well (41%) - average 17 points and 7 rebounds last year. UND Fan Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 New offer: Bailey Basala, 6'6", Eldridge (North Scott), IA Has offer from Air Force Quote

hoops44 Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Frankens only D1 offer AND with only 2 open spots and 15 other offers out this guy looks like a guy they will sign. .... my take is that the feedback from others kids offered not too strong therefore a kid with only one D1 offer this late looks like a pretty good bet Quote
UND Fan Posted July 10, 2016 Author Posted July 10, 2016 Another offer to what appears to be a pretty talented kid: SG Matt Beachler, 6'4”, 180, Lowell (Lowell), MI Has offers from CMU, Cornell, DePaul, Kent St, Lehigh, NIU, Oakland Toledo & VCU Quote
UND Fan Posted July 11, 2016 Author Posted July 11, 2016 Another.... PG Keondre Schumacher, 6'1", Normal (University), IL Quote

hoops44 Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Moody had no other D1 offers....but if you are going to take a flyer on a kid it might just as well be a home state player Quote

Neither did Will Ratelle. It's up to the staff to develop and put him in the right positions. He will be a good player, IMO. Very quick release, can create his own shot. Quote

Will probably break the scoring record this season. His JR season numbers were more impressive than Jeff Bouschee Nick Jacobson or Tanner Kretchmans big Sr years in class A and Moody's was just his Jr year. We all know the kind of players the first two were and Kretchmans was the #2 scorer on a top 5 D2 team and could easily be getting minutes at a D1 school. Pretty good company and he hasn't even played his Sr. Year. Nice bonus - both siblings were NDSU athletes. Time for mom and dad to swap that out for UND gear to watch Aanen play here. Quote

I would say offers mean even less at the level UND is at for basketball and football especially. I could make a list of 80-100 kids over the last ten years at just UND and NDSU in those 2 sports that were walk ons or only had 1 offer that turned out to be nice contributers, starters, all conference and professionals. Pretty much every kid at this level is under the radar. It matters what they do when they get to school. Quote

The talent is there, just a matter of putting and keeping the rest of it together at the next level. Quote
