Since a lot of people are going to the games and are not really familiar with the metro and where to eat here are some suggestions.

Bar La Grassa (make reservations today for that weekend) http://www.barlagrassa.com/

Al Vento http://www.alventorestaurant.com/

Saigon (University Ave. St. Paul) http://www.yelp.com/biz/saigon-restaurant-and-bakery-st-paul (try the bahn mi which are Vietnamese subs and pho with meatballs)

Lucia's (tried and true) http://www.lucias.com

http://www.photaubay.us/

Rinata http://www.rinatarestaurant.com

D'Amico's http://www.damicoandsons.com/

Luci Ancora http://www.ristoranteluci.com/

Taqueria Los Ocampo http://www.losocampo.com/ (not the Red Pepper or Paradiso)

Taqueria La Hacienda http://www.taqueriaslahacienda.com/

Pineda Tacos 311 E Lake St (real dive but great food)

Adelita's http://www.adelitasmexicanrestaurant.com/ (pork in adobo sauce yum. They also have a bakery up the street about 20 blocks that is really good)

Remember one thing about these places. They are not the Olive Garden, Red Pepper, or Paradiso. Gee I wonder what three types of food I like best?

PS If any questions PM me. Stay away from Cossetas.

Just don't go to chain restaurants... There are a ton of great local places in Uptown.

Chino-Latino and Common Roots are 2 of my favoirte. Try any Surly Beer you can find.

Before the games and Friday, these are all great picks for a nice lunch or dinner...however, after the game on thursday, and hopefully saturday, Taco Bell will taste just as good!

I didn't mind Cosetta's, nothing real special I guess...

Ok-since you might be in St. Paul for the Frozen Four some good places in St. Paul to eat:

Christo's -greek at the Union Depot they have a lunch buffet and regular menu

El torro-mexican on Plato also just added a lunch buffet and this is definately not the type of food you will get in Grand Forks.

Pazzaluna

True Thia

I will agree that Chino Latino is good however I have heard its declined recently although if you want something trendy and different its a great option. (and its in Minneapolis) every other one I have listed is St. Paul

Lousiana Cafe on Dale and Selby great for breakfast its not even open for supper.

Red Savoy also has excellent pizza

Trattoria Da Vinci is also excellent for Italian food
