Sioux-Bulldogs Question

I'm anxious to see what the lines will be for this game minus of course the Pony Express. Of course both Bruno and Davidson will be in the lineup, and Brad said this week that both Marto and Gleason would both play defense against Duluth......

Here is my guess:

Trupp-Malone-Frattin

Kristo-Knight-Rowney

Davidson-Lamoureax-Rodwell

Bruno-Cichy-Simpson

Blood-Genoway

LaPoint-Marto

McWilliam-Gleason

I could see the Sioux going with an 11 forwards 7 defensemen lineup too. But Simpson has played forward before, and I'm not sure who else you put up there to fill a line with Marto and Gleason back on D.

Swap rowney and Rodwell, and consider playing Dickin for Simpson (maybe?) and I think you have a lineup.

If they can come back at all this year I'm sure they will. There are so many expectations for a title this year that even if it meant they returned in March they would.

This game doesn't count in the WCHA, even a loss (while hurting us slightly in the PWR) is not devastating.

The focus has to be winning the WCHA, finishing strong at the Final Five and going into the NCAAs loaded for bear.

We are almost a certainty to make the NCAAs, so getting healthy for the second half run is key...I'll happily have Hexy and Gregs recoup while we play the HOF game and Robert Morris if they are healthy come March/April when we need them.

Anyone else besides YaneA going to the game? I'm interested to know what Sioux fans think of the arena. Obviously it's no marble palace like the Ralph but it will be nice to hear opposing fans's opinions.

I'll be there. And if I get lucky enough to find a decent-priced single ticket, my wife too!

What is she going to do if you don't find one for her? Go to the casino?

Post your thoughts here after the game! I'll come back and check to see what people thought. I have this weird feeling there's going to be some horrible SNAFU where the video equipment doesn't work or the goal light doesn't come on or something. I know they've tested it all but I'm still nervous. Oh, and I'm nervous about the game, esp with our late breaking injury report...

Judging from this photo album, Amsoil Arena looks very nice! I love the lobby. While The Ralph is classic elegance, Amsoil Arena is quite contemporary. I like the sleek, modern architecture and track lighting. The murals on the walls are reminicent of The Ralph. However, I wonder why they chose to only display them at ice level (or perhaps there are some on the main concourse, but not shown in these photos). One of my favorite things about The Ralph is that the history and tradition of Fighting Sioux hockey is on full display throughout the arena.

I wish I could see it in person. Maybe next year.

No Gregoire and Hextall for Thursday, according to Brad...........will we ever really find out the story on those guys?

As a fan it bothers me that we never know about the status of our players, but at the same time its good strategy for the coaches as well, teams don't know how to necessarily prepare for the Sioux. Its a Bill Belichick move.

Thank you for that photo gallery, man that arena looks awesome. Contemporary is the perfect word to describe it. I love the look to the seats as well. I love the random yellow seats, almost looks like flames.

There are HIPPA laws that restrict what kind of information can be released about an individual's medical condition. They apply to medical people, businesses, government offices, etc. So there are plenty of reasons for not releasing that information other than the fact that it is good to keep the other guys guessing.

So......the players themselves are under a gag order by the team or some other entity?

An individual that is 18 years of age or older can say anything they want about themselves, and can allow others to release the information. But no one else is allowed to release that information without permission. That's why hospitals can only release information to family members, why pro and college teams can no longer release information on injuries, etc. That's why so many injuries are reported as "upper body" or "lower body" injuries. That is about as specific as they are allowed to be without the individual giving consent. HIPAA (wrong initials in first post) laws are federal laws to protect individuals. Privacy is only one part of HIPAA.

So, you're saying the players in question could be specific on their injuries? If so, why aren't/don't they? Again, are they instructed not to by their teams, NCAA, or other?

Goes with the territory.

Actually, it doesn't. They are under no obligation to provide their private medical information to anyone. That is part of what the law is about, that information is private, although it isn't specific to athletes. HIPAA laws apply to everyone in every walk of life. Why would they want to tell someone where they are injured? Just so fans feel better because they have some knowledge? And also let players on other teams know where their weak point is so they can take shots? Fans don't have any rights to that kind of information.
