Porter was very impressive Friday night and if he keeps it up, he will be the biggest surprise. Considering Murray and Stafford are on 1st and 2nd lines respectively they are almost expected to perform well, however if Porter gets some ice time, he will impress very much.

Agreed. I think Porter does wonders on the boards and is one of the hardest working players on the ice every night. No matter who's on the line with him it seems to cycle extremely well in the offensive zone.

I would like to see Foyt play a lot more. He looks a lot better than Bina.

Foyt had better position sure, but Foyt's not registered a point yet. Bina has.

Remember, Bina is a lot more touted by the area because of his juniors and high school performances. That's why he's on scholarship and Foyt is a walk on.

If either of them play at all, I'd expect Bina to play for that reason. Besides it was interesting to see him on the same line as Smaby.

"Bina and Smaby plays David and Goliath on the blue line. A blue line of biblical proportions!"

I voted for Smaby because I mean :D . "literally"

He better watch out though. Shep doesn't like Greene and will send him to the box within the first 5 min of the game. Smaby showed that he can lose his cool yesterday too. It won't be hard for Shep to let him know that he doesn't like the freshman class equally to the upper class

How many points does Bina have? On his assist last night, it didn't take much skill. I am more concerned about defensive ability, especially if we are going with you opinion and playing Parise in net. :D

I don't know anything about Foyt, but I do know that Robbie was one of Lincoln's best defensemen last year. Why not give him a few more games before deciding that Robbie should sit while Foyt plays. Heck if UND doesn't want him, maybe we can "adjust" his birth certificate to get him back to Lincoln for a season, Lord knows we could use a solid defenseman to play the point on the PP

Last I checked, an assist is an assist is an assist regardless if it comes off Murray's stick or Bina's stick. This is a game of production. Bina has produced.

Since you question assists as points, I'm curious to know what you think of Brady Murray? After all, except for one goal, all he has is assists. :)

I agree with your position of standing behind Brandt. And I admire your stance in support of Foyt. I think he's a good player, however, scholarships mean more in DI hockey. After all, if you consistently start a walk on over a scholarship player, you wonder why that player is on scholarship. So far, Bina has only two things running against him: his size and his history. Foyt has more experience when it comes to juniors. He also has a little more size and he has experience playing with Bochenski. He also has somewhat of an advantage in hype between Bina and Foyt.

Blais has recruited some duds in the past, sure, but no one is a dud before they've played more than 5 games at least. And so far, Bina has had the advantage of having more ice time than Foyt. There's something going on behind the scenes at practice that makes Bina more attractive as well. We all know Blais will bench someone who isn't performing.

Maybe I'm too quick to side with J Parise, but I'm not calling for him to be starter either. I am saying that so far, he, like Bina, has the advantage over Ziggy in ice time.

Yes, a point is a point, but it is not as important for a defenseman that is only playing one or two games. To answer your question, I believe Murray is doing his job: getting the puck to Brandon and Zach. If you want him to score more goals, take him off the line. Look at what it is doing for Quin. If we have the d-men healthy, we don't need Bina or Foyt. If one of them gets the 5+ games in, I will be looking for your review of their play. :D
