I don't like seeing that blatant of a penalty, but agree that a big hit is what was needed. Or even Helgeson should have got 4 for continuing to go after the player as the refs were breaking it up. I love the gopher fans upset that UND fans were cheering when the player was down. They weren't cheering because of that. They were cheering because of the scrum your team started, which incidently delayed medical attention from being given to your own player. Ole in MSP Posted March 15, 2010 Share Posted March 15, 2010 No. This was definitely an illegal hit. But not what TC Transplant thinks. If Frattin didn't leave his feet, it would have been legal. But he left his feet to make the hit. The penalty was legit. However, Helgeson and Kangas should have been penalized. Helgeson was. Kangas was not. Lost the feed right after the hit so did not see the replay, but my initial reaction was that he left his feet and Wehrs head hit the glass. Blow to head not clear, but definitely needed a major penalty. No reason to leave your feet. Stupid, lucky we got away with it. May be more league action after the game.
