Snake Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I guess i can quit feeling incredibly dumb now huh? Not your fault...you were given bad information.
xI Hammer Ix Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Wow something needs to be done about the PP. It is atrocious. It hasn't been great tonight, but didnt they show a graphic saying it was 2nd in the WCHA?
BigGreyAnt41 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I wonder how the power play is on NHL-size ice compared to olympic-sized ice.
brianvf Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I wonder how the power play is on NHL-size ice compared to olympic-sized ice. I think it's pretty horrible everywhere since Genoway was injured.
BigGreyAnt41 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Game over 5-1 Gophers And no dirty stuff after the horn (which is good) Like I said (spun) before, this win just gives the Gophers a better record, which gives are two wins and a tie against them look better

I believe we're 1-1-2...
jodcon Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 When did we beat them the second time? I believe we're 1-1-2... That is correct
brianvf Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 That wasn't fun. Time to regroup and hope they can play better (and get some puck luck) against Cornell. They'll need it. Huge weekend for the PWR next weekend.
johndahl Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I can't believe there's some asshat behind the announcers jumping up and down in a Holy Cross sweatshirt. Time to move on, dude...

ticklethetwine Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 My hats off to the gophers this weekend. I don't think they were the better team by any means but they got the job done. Cepis looked good and adds that talker mentality to the gophers squad. Time will tell if this win by the gophers was a fluke or not. Sioux disappointed this weekend. I know the blame can't be all placed on our goaltending but I just have no confidence in Eidsness that he will make a big save when we need him to. Also the issues with holding a lead seem to still haunt us from the NCAA regionals from last year against UNH. It just seemed like the team was not mentally prepared and I put that squarely on the coaches.
duluthSioux Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Gut Check Time translated into Get Heads Out of ARSE
Oxbow6 Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 Kangas stops 34 of 35. When are we going to see that in net? For all the games we've given away this year, it would be kind of fun to steal at least one at some point.
Ole in MSP Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I think it's pretty horrible everywhere since Genoway was injured. This team is not the same team without Genoway (understatement). I think they played harder and better tonite than they did last nite, but Hakstol's teams over his 6 years just cannot score goals. I don't know what it is, but the Sioux make virtually every goalie look like an All-American, and not just this year. Lots of shots wide, in the breadbasket, etc. Passes around the net when the goalie is out of position often miss. Just not sharp. Nothing new either. Out playing and out shooting the opponent is not the measure of the game. But, at least we have Basketball and this team is young so the future should be bright.

We go into every game basically down 2 goals cause you know he going to give up 2, whether earned or soft. Some say youth, some say coaching on the not being able to hold a lead thing. I don't know what to say other than we can't hold a lead!
wsdSIOUXfalls Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Jeez, now he's on two guys' shoulders bouncing up and down. I'm embarrassed just to watch... Rabbit ears behind the announcers too! I think he's finally gone. That phone call must have been from his mom telling him to knock it off!
Oxbow6 Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 did i hear kangas right? 'it was easy' Total tool if he said that...like we say at the golf course "he couldn't do that again hitting 2 bags of balls". He played his game of the year!
ticklethetwine Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Total tool if he said that...like we say at the golf course "he couldn't do that again hitting 2 bags of balls". He played his game of the year! You know if the sioux could have finished their chances old kangass wouldn't have thought it was so easy. We kind of helped him play his game of the year.
brianvf Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Total tool if he said that...like we say at the golf course "he couldn't do that again hitting 2 bags of balls". He played his game of the year! Yep, I wouldn't be surprised if we shelled the Gophers if we play them again this year. For the most part this game, the Sioux controlled play. They didn't look entirely sharp, but they still got a boatload of chances. Kangas just blew his horseshoe game of the season in January.
ticklethetwine Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Is it just me or does anyone else feel the coaching staff is just not getting it done. Perhaps I am just a little upset over this weekend but I can't get Dean Blais's name out of my head.
Oxbow6 Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 Pretty safe to say, for Pairwise and WCHA standings, we need at least 3 out of the next 4 games.
