#1fan Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 He definitely could use bulking up. He is also getting just what he needs to remedy his mistakes: Playing time. He also has the faith of Hakstol and Co. For those two things, I unwaveringly support Derek and refuse to put up with the "Bench LaPoint" crap. I agree He's only going to get better with more playing time. Give the kid a chance Quote

If LaPoint was a SENIOR, I would say fine, bench him, whatevs. He's a FRESHMAN, and a future superstar. Quote
yababy8 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Well, I've seen LaPoint make his first major mistake so all week now we'll be hearing tons of "LaPoint sucks, play Marto" posts. Well, with Genoway out, maybe we'll here "Play Forney and Marto! Move Radke back to D!" Anyways, GO LAPOINT GO! I'm a fan of yours! I think Hak wants to keep playing LaPoint even though he is basically a liability because LaPoint has a big scoring upside talent. The game is just to fast for him to do really any focusing on taking shots. He is to busy trying not to screw up. You have to have your D position down to a comfortable position before you start working the shooting lanes and finding shooting or passing plays and he is not even close to comfortable and solid on the D side. He has a ways to go Quote
sprig Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I think they are all the same length.....I could be wrong The difference is the width, NHL are 85 feet, like the REA, Olympic are 100 feet, like Mariucci THe DECC in NHL width, 85 feet, but 10 feet shorter in length, only 190, The 10' is taken out of the neutral ice area. I am not sure why some are hating on Lapoint and others are hating on Marto? Both are good players that only get better. If Chay is out for a time Both will be needed. Quote

#1fan Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Now you can start ragging on Malone as the annoouncer said he made a "almost critical mistake". Just remeber they are someone's kids Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Did anyone ever hear what McKnight got his misconduct for? Quote

Runninwiththedogs Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Did anyone ever hear what McKnight got his misconduct for? There's only one reason you get a penalty like that. Quote
UNDintheNHL Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 ok, so if we end in a 0-0 tie, do both goaltenders get credit for a SO? or how does that work? Quote
Runninwiththedogs Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 ok, so if we end in a 0-0 tie, do both goaltenders get credit for a SO? or how does that work? Yes, of course! We had 2 0-0 games last year. Quote

UMDDogz Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 The difference in ice length would definitely affect play more than width.... Disagree... Quote
