Hammer doesn't seem to get that same break - in fact a good part of this entire thread bitches about him making very small mistakes too. My point is if you're going to SH*T (notice how I brought it back to the original post there ) all over Hammer for the smallest of things because these guys are representing the "best, most storied college hockey program in the US" - you also have to acknowledge the person some consider the TV GOD of UND Hockey also isn't perfect - and never was and made WWAAAYYYY TOO MANY bad pun/old TV references that you all forget...so put that in your pipe and smoke it! The OTHER POINT is Sweeney is a UND media figure now in THE PAST and will never return as long as Midco has the contract- period. He had a shot and they decided to go in a different direction - end of story! Holy crap - anyone ever watch UND Sports Extra or the Hakstol show during the week? If not, I suggest you look them up. Hammer does a TON of work to help produce 2 quality 30 minute sports shows a week before he ever begins prepping for the upcoming live broadcasts - and that's not easy. Anyone who thinks he's not working his ass off to represent UND is a positive and proactive way has NO IDEA at all what it takes to pull this off - also PERIOD. At the Al, I hear not totally new boards but bigger and better resolution that with other video expansion options will bring it up to date. It's time for an update since the Al is 13 years old now but remember it was WAY ahead of it's time video-boardwise when it opened. The problem was the Ralph opened the same year with state of the art boards so of course the Al looked weak but remember - It took the fargobarn a couple years to upgrade to even the Alerus level in 2001 and they'd been around for a lot longer...PLUS their in-house show was VERY amateur many years AFTER they got videoboards but that's another story. Video boards at the Betty are due but who's going to pay? Small venue - have to hire a regular crew and buy equipment - spendy but something would be nice.

The guy was broadcasting his 2nd live game of the day (UND-NDSU WBB 3 hours earlier) both of which involve MANY hours of prep beforehand and you nag a brainfreeze he had after a nutbuster of a live broadcast schedule.
