I said football coaching not character.  Bubba is a much better man,  I thought we were talking as a football coach.

I think their man point was that Bubba is a better FCS coach than Petrino. Petrino wanted nothing to do with the FCS other than he needed a job. His only goal was to put lipstick on a pig for as long as he could until he got another job. The lipstick was shining brightly through the 3rd quarter against Arkansas. But that lipstick came off after that and then it was as ugly as ever.

This is exactly when the whistle blew.  Show me which UIW player has the ball.

Well 49 sure doesn't have the ball, he is just laying on it. Nobody has control at this point....it should still be a live ball. You can't see the one arm of the UIW player, he may have a hand on the ball and be more in control of the ball than 49.

Side judge ruled #49 recovered and had possession at that point he was immediately down by contact before UIW player ripped the ball free while both were laying on the ground.

I just watched it about 10 more times.  49 was laying on the ball and ruled down by contact.

I haven't watched it again, but is just laying on a ball possession? Thought you had to be in control of the ball....not just laying on it.

  4. Scary thing is....the Bison gonna roll to a Championship. Wait until they get another QB again that can run and throw.....these semifinal games will be NDSU blowouts.

Or keep them honest haha, seriously NDSU struggles the most where they cannot get the run game going. Also every quarterback they (NDSU) starts is a dual threat and against the good teams the qb runs are called more.

Couldn't believe it on the 4th quarter....Word played man to man....with no spy.....so Miller easily runs it for 29 yards.

  6. Although you would sure think MSU or SDSU would for sure force Miller to beat them with his arm. But even then not sure anybody can.....it's ridiculous. The Bison had more passing yards in the mid 80's when they ran the option than tonight.

    SDSU would be favored

Doesn't matter if they are favored. They won't beat them in Frisco.....or in the playoffs, not happening. SDSU will feel all the pressure.....NDSU will roll them.

Winning is a habit and great players make plays when they need to.

That is exactly what I said 30 minutes before the game when I said Bison will win this but Word is tough and will make it a game.

PI in 2nd down not called.  Word screwed this up badly

Ya saw that, can't believe they didn't even show a replay. Seemed obvious in real time.

Bison gonna roll in 2nd half. Word shot their load.

  10. Sac State was good this year, but they didn't have to play Montana State and I think were slightly overrated.  I don't think Sac State would have beaten NDSU, would have likely been a 15 point win for NDSU IMO.  I think SDSU, NDSU, and Montana are the top three....and then there is a drop off.  UIW seems to have some athletes and playmakers though....so I'm definitely giving them a chance tonight.  But to underestimate the Bison has been pretty foolish in the past.  You have to give them credit, their players make plays when they are needed.  Even in the spring Covid season when they were without Lance.....against Sam Houston on the road....they weren't doing much on offense.....so right when it wasn't looking good Watson returns a kickoff for a TD, and I think he had another pretty big return. Unfortunately, I would expect NDSU players will make plays when needed and they will be off to Frisco again.

SDSU seems to have the least beneficial home field advantage of any of the top teams.  Their crowds are usually smaller during the playoffs....almost got beat by SIU....last year I think it was.  Montana is also a cold weather team....and they like to run the ball.  Could be another NDSU - MSU matchup again this year.  If it's SDSU and NDSU, all of the pressure will be on SDSU since they have never beaten NDSU when it really counted....in the playoffs.  I would take NDSU in that matchup.

I think both games this weekend will at least be competitive and entertaining to watch.

MoiSt just hired Ryan Beard ... Petrino's son-in-law.

So if and when our next coaching change comes....are we going to have to post the damn position for 30 days again before announcing, leaving 30 days of instability where players can leave.  Other schools have a new coach in place in about a week.  Not that players still may not leave during any coaching change, but when there is no head coach for 30 days.....that is a long time for uncertainty and more time for players to think about leaving....instead of meeting and getting excited about the new coach.

Oh no. I don’t know how but we have to get him to come here.

I do see that 19 hours ago, he did retweet the Sawyer Seidel commitment to UND tweet. So it seems as of 19 hours ago he was still strong UND.  But an offer by Nebraska can quickly change that....Ugh.

So is Missouri State better off now than before Bobby? Imagine all the transfers with one year connection to the school wondering what's next.

I feel kind of bad for the Missouri State fans. They started having high hopes.....then they crapped the bed this year and now Bobby is gone and I'm sure they will likely have a lot of guys transfer out ....and back to being a dumpster fire again.

Although on the other hand, some of those Misery State fans got pretty cocky pretty quickly, so in that sense I don't feel that bad.

Really? I Googled “FCS scores” and it’s saying 7-0 Half. Strange.

EDIT: And I refresh the screen and it’s 10-0 just 4 seconds into the third.

There was a penalty on the last play of the half, moving the ball up 15 yards for NDSU to kick a FG.  The clock was already at 0 and because of the penalty they got to run one last play.  So since the clock literally was at zero, it probably said it's halftime online, then a minute later they kicked the FG.

Doing everything they can to keep Wisconsins grubby mits off of him, well done

Agree, I feel better about him staying with us seeing those pictures.  It's obvious Bubba and Danny know we need a great QB to take us to the next level and are making him a priority.

It seems like I recall Lennon in an interview or something talking about how he visited the Dressler family back in the day, and that it was pretty unusual for him to actually go out and visit players/family at their place.  I could be wrong or remembering in correctly on this, but at the time I recall being surprised by him saying that....as I figured he probably went to visit a fair amount of the top recruits....but it sounded like he rarely did.  Obviously was a good call doing it for Dressler given how that turned out.  Others probably have a much better insight on this.....as to how often the head coach normally goes out to visit the kid and their family.

He shows a 4.44 on his profile. He also shows a 4.57 and 4.64 from UND's camp. Either way, I assume the staff is comfortable with what they saw this summer.

Maybe I'm not looking in the right place on his hudl? Shows 4.56 on his hudl when I look. If UND shows that time from their camp it's probably legit.

Seems like a great kid. Lots of potential too. Coaches were always high on him. Sometimes things just don’t work out for whatever reason. See Hoos at UNI.

Agree. He played a lot, just never got the ball thrown his way much for whatever reason. Good luck to him.
