Chris Kleiman stepped down at K-state this morning.

Was he considered on the hot seat as this year went along? Think they are 6-5.

  2. Definitely an unusual series of events where....going to Simon may provide the shake up we needed on offense. Im guessing if its 3rd and 3 he wont be throwing fly patterns. I'm hoping for the best, would be great to get to the next round. Our defense is legit, so the offense just has to do enough. If we can mix it up snd get some success on the ground, and get back to zero turnovers on offense (primarily Jerry snd SS the past 5 games).

I'm not convinced Tarleton is that much better than Tenn Tech.  What is their signature win this season.  I am cautiously optimistic that this is going to be a game we should win because the team is battle tested against some of the best FCS teams and from what I can tell Tarleton has a cupcake schedule.

They beat Army, who beat Kansas State. What is our signature win, Youngstown? And that is when we were rolling on offense,  that is not the case now.

Remember when it was 10-6 at the end of the 3rd quarter last week? We get a couple TD'S in 4th quarter and now we are some kind of unstoppable juggernaut?

I hope we come out of our slump, but call me not surprised if it is midway through the 2nd quarter and we are feeling just like we felt last week about our offense.

  4. Have to admit,  after Saturday's game I felt there is no way we beat Tarelton. I may be coming around a little, but our offense has been bad.  Z being back does help some, but I don't know if Simon is all of the sudden our magical answer to get our offense going again. Call me crazy but Im not 100 percent convinced we see this big offensive improvement this week. For several weeks we've been thinking this is the week we get our offensive Mojo back and it never happens.

Our defense has been great though, so maybe offense can score just enough to pull out a win.

and no call and no review makes it doubly sickening.

I may be wrong, but I think they did review it and said it wasn't targeting.  Not saying it shouldn't have been called, but was thinking they reviewed it.

It didn't seem to be nearly as violent of a collision as many hits I've see, for instance than one on Dennis against SDSU. But think it was more that he got hit just right and then his head hit the ground. So it was more like contact from the player and then helmet hit the ground hard right after.

I hope Jerry is OK long term, and likely best he doesn't play this weekend.

My perception of him has completely flipped this year. I could never get over him whiffing on the block against SDSU on the pick 6 a couple of years ago out of my head.

I think last year he had like 0 catches the first 5 weeks, also had some drops over his career.  It's been great to see him really contributing and being a solid WR, has had some nice catches when we needed it.

People are quite literally dogging him for flipping. We celebrate when we flip a kid. It’s part of the game. Is it a red flag when a coach leaves a team after brining in guys with the assumption that he will develop them at his current destination?

When we got the guy to flip from us a month or so ago and we were all cheering him on, I was going to make a sarcastic post.....saying I wonder if we should question his loyalty or commitment since he dropped his other school and chose UND, think was a kid from NIU?

As I knew when we got a kid who flipped, these comments would come out. The kid hasn't stepped foot on campus for a practice or anything yet, if he got an offer from bigger school and chance to play games against teams like Michigan etc, plus more NIL money....most would take it. And I think many on this board would take it too if you were at that age, in that position, in the current climate of things.

I am OK with kids getting some money for their hard work and effort, but I dont like the dollar amounts they are getting up to, it has gotten a little crazy.

I hope we can keep Rucker, he has worked with the coaches and they have spent time with him, to me that is harder when those types of people leave, but if its moving up to a half way decent FBS team I understand it.

I was always on the fence on Simon(maybe more off the fence), but he came through when his number was called, credit to the young man.

It almost seemed like the play calling got better when he came in too.

JTJ seemed very inconsistent in just the little bit I saw him I saw him in game action, felt Simon could come in a situation exactly like this and drive the car to the finish line if needed.
