Hoping Navratil becomes a consistent playmaker for us at OLB this year.

No love from the way too early football bracket.
Bulletin board material right there, not even a mention of UND.

So is Q still the short yardage/6 inches from the goal line situation QB?
1,000 percent without a doubt he will still get most of those short yardage calls Danny isn't dumb.

You could get bombed for a buck. Really bombed for two bucks.
I remember $1.50 pitchers at Down Under. I stumbled home a few times. I lived at the 42nd street Apartments and it was very convenient. Cheap, questionable beer. The good ole days.
What I wouldn't give to go back in time to the Down Under on a Friday and see all of the usual faces and $1.50 pitchers.

And Eliodor
I had mentioned Red and Elioder in my original post.....that's why he said Dennis. Hopefully all three of those guys provide some explosive plays on offense, not to mention what Bo gives us. Think he took that inside screen against NDSU 60 yards or so.
Nice to get some big chunk plays instead of having to have 12 play a scoring drives all the time. The 12 play scoring drives are also great though too as gives our defense a rest and makes the other offense restless on the sidelines.

Looking for another gear out of Red this year! He’s fun to watch
Yeah he is. Looking forward to seeing what Elioder can do too. Hoping to see more big plays out of the standard offense (non Trick plays) Still hoping to see some big plays from trick plays too, but hoping Red and Elioder can bring some needed speed and big play capability at the WR position.

Absolutely we aren't going anywhere without improvement on defense. And to be honest back in February when Holinka resigned, which was an odd time and I knew we'd just be getting an internal higher and at the time didn't see any transfers coming in......I was pretty pessimistic about our defense being much better this fall.
However as the months went along, we got two DL transfers that I think will help up front. Also last year CJ was the only CB with experience, now we have experience at CB. Fort was hurt last year, Buckner didn't play as he was still picking up the defense etc. With those guys being able to play more, and perhaps simplifying defense helping I'd think we'd have a little improvement there too. I think McNeal will step up at LB. OLB we will see, still a concern.
Based on those things, I do think we should almost for sure be a little better than last year. How much of a jump in improvement remains to be seen. Since it's August though, I have my slightly tinted Kelly Green glasses on hoping there is significant improvement. I don't think we are going to be a top defense, which is the end goal, but hopefully enough improvement to win some more games with our high powered offense.

I would be very surprised if UND makes it a game against Boise St. Not anything against UND. I just see Boise State play Wyoming alot and Boise State looks like a group of giants comparably. Boise State is the real thing when it comes to football.
Very tough game no doubt. But any given Saturday.......make it happen!

I agree that Tommy needs to improve on accuracy with the long ball. I still think part of the problem is if our guy only has a step on him he tends to overshoot the WR to avoid a potential pick. Need to let the WR make a play on some of those deep balls or get a pass interference.

Will Caden Dennis have a break out year, he was supposed to have really good speed. Now that he has been in the program for a while will we see some big plays from him? Or will it be Eliodor making a splash with big plays for us this year on offense? Hopefully more big plays from Red this year as well. Sure would be nice to see a couple deep ball connections with our WR's with a couple feet of separation.

Think Schwenzfeier and Bubba are making a point about how bad the defense was last year? Every position up for grabs, regardless of age/role last year
Love that they are doing that!

i do think that maybe part of und getting kaminski is he looked at the stable of QB's on the roster and said "easy money"...wouldn't be surprised if he makes a run as the 1
I'm looking forward to Kaminski and think he has potential to be really really good. But you have about as much of a chance of getting struck by lightning this summer.....as Kaminski as a true freshman beating out Tommy. If that should happen...we are in amazing hands at QB the next four years.

q?
Although I do agree with you that it is quite odd that Tommy is not on that poster. Even if Tommy is low key etc. a senior QB who has played as many games as he has.......has probably never in history not been on the main poster. But there could be multiple posters that were created and that was just one of them however.

No.
What have you seen from Q in the last couple of years that would make you think he'd all of the sudden jump Tommy who is a Senior and I believe is listed as the 14th best FCS QB.....or somewhere around there.

Crystal Ball or a burner phone, probably the latter. Every serious program is doing this or has something in the works. UND doesn't of course and can't land anyone from the portal. It's a slow train wreck for college sports, loose transfer portal and NIL pay to play. But it's reality so no use in waiting around.
It seems like it could be as simple as the coach has their top 10 targeted players written on a white board in their office. Someone from the NIL collective comes in and says hey coach how's it going, sees the white board. The coach never told anybody what to do, but if he has his top 10 players written in a board and someone "just happens to see it" well there you go. I know that is a stripped down simplified version but you know a version of that is going on at bigger schools.

So these 6 guys are holding back the program because they haven’t fully funded it to its full potential? Why haven’t they donated the money we need?
I have no idea about these guys or who they even are. I was just trying to make the simple point that if you wait for the Alerus to consistently sell out before starting an NIL.....it may never happen. And make the point that I'd think it would be better to start a small NIL now instead of waiting 5-8 years when you think you'll have a larger NIL. I honestly don't know what the other schools are doing.....I just don't want to have to get behind the others when it comes to NIL and have to play catchup.

Are those top guys even football fans? Those bottom 3 football legends I’m sure would donate but they are not bank rolling the entire thing. Honestly we need to sell out the alerus before thinking we will have a big collective
Chicken and egg scenario there. Won't consistently sell out the Alerus until we have better players. The NIL thing doesn't have to start with huge amounts initially, just get it started and try to evolve it over time.

This is the most UND-FB-FAN type posts ever. Someone makes a positive comment about some of our players, UND-FB-FAN immediately turns it into a negative.
