Randolph has apparently decommitted from Army, per his twitter.

Are we sure we would want this kid....I mean he is decommitting and changing his mind and going from one school and now looking to go somewhere else.....    I am being sarcastic here and joking....but I do find it funny sometimes when a kid decommits from us to go somewhere else some people question the kids integrity, but if a kid changes their mind to come here we are all  loving it.   Hope he ends up here.

  2. I think a good example of why NDSU wins and some of these high flying teams don't win are the little things.  Like on that punt early in the game where the ball hit around the 25 yard line or so and bounced towards the goal line.......the Jacksonville guy half assed downing the ball before going in the end zone and it rolled into the end zone.  Instead of NDSU getting the ball on the 3 they got it at the 20. If NDSU was covering that punt (or hopefully UND for that matter) they would have made a better effort to down the ball and they would have.  Some of these high flying teams think they have the natural talent to just win.  You do have to have good talent, but if you have to have a good defense and play sound fundamental football across the board, and nobody does it better than NDSU right now.

I think he played at NDSU in the early 70's.  Usually a very reasonable poster here, but I guess not on this particular topic.

I would agree that for NDSU posters on here, 73 is usually reasonable and doesn't seem to have a primary purpose to come here and condemn and stir stuff up.

  4. I agree with those that feel this doesn't necessarily mean the kid has questionable character.  Most of us by Wednesday this week will have forgotten about him for the most part and we will get somebody else.  However for this kid, this is a HUGE decision for the next 5 years and the rest of his life.  We all still have ties to UND years later....even if we didn't play a sport.......where you go play college football is something you will have for life.  From what I gathered he had kind of wanted to go to SDSU, yes he did verbally commit to us......but then when he did actually get an offer from where he really wanted to go you can't totally judge him on that.  Well you can judge him if you want, but I think it's unfair.  There are a lot of things that go into the decision, many personal things which we no almost none of.    And sounds like he may have gotten more scholarship.    Also if we are going to question his character, we better judge the character of any other player than changes over to us in the future.   Some here are now saying if a kid doesn't produce on the field we should pull their scholarship. That is big time hypocritical that we could pull our commitment to a kid once it's written, but a kid gets bad mouthed if he changes on a verbal well before the signing period.

Given all of that I sure hope we make him regret the decision football wise, and that UND is more successful than SDSU the next 5 years.

  5. You give NDSU a free 7 points on a kick off return.......you're not going to win.  Thought UNI might have a chance....not that they still don't......but NDSU will pull this one out as usual.

  6. NDSU's green helmets are pretty sweet.

Not sure if I totally agree with that.   Or maybe it's just that with green helmets, when I turn on the game.....can't even tell it is NDSU on the field......not use to the dark helmets for them.

  7. Bubb would never go to Siu if it meant leaving the HC here.  It's his dream job.

Bubba wouldn't leave for SIU.....unless he got a 500k raise (just picked a huge number).  That is one great thing about Bubba being here......he WANTS to be here.....this is not a stepping stone for him to some other position.  As long as he continues to be successful I think he'll stay until he's ready to retire.

  8. must have been a pretty big blowout. I'm seeing some folks here talk down WIU's 24-7 victory.

Sticking up for your beloved MVFC huh, can't believe some on here have cozied up to you......when you are just a troll.

  9. how did the UND/Drake game go this year?

We were up 28-0 at half, let off the gas and got complacent since we had a huge rivalry game the following week.  Plus that was at the beginning of the year, we were a different team at the end of the year.

  10. MVFC team -4 rushing yards against a 7-4 Big Sky team. #BigFluffy Stitt>Stig.

But you are forgetting something.....Big Sky teams can't play defense.....and MVFC are all about the Big D.........hence the 24-0 score lol

  11. Rhetorical question alert: How big is it going into next year with little to no question at starting QB?  It's been a while.

No doubt!  I know after 3 games or so into the year when Studs was still struggling, I was so afraid that we'd end up going through another year and at the end we still wouldn't really be 110% sure which guy would be the guy in 2016.  Great job Studs on the improvement, and hope it continues even further into next year!

  12. The fact that he said they actually do take into account injuries, to me makes it even more puzzling.  We only had 1 loss when our starting QB played the whole game, and if you look at how well we were playing when he came back since he said they look at EVERYTHING, he said we'd be surprised at everything they look at, it makes less sense.  However I don't know if EIU had a key injury.  We had several injuries, like most do, but we had significant drop off when our backup QB was in.  I would still like them to answer the question as to what EIU's quality win is, as that is supposedly part of what they look at.

  13. You guys.....it is pointless to argue with Gothmog, he is enjoying needling us here.  Don't think had seen him on this site much the last three weeks of the season, but he sure seems to be following the thread closely today.  Just stop replying directly to his comments, trust me you'll never get a point across to him that he will accept.

  14. I also have seen talented teams (the San Diego Chargers of the mid-2000's for example) underachieve and fall far short of expectations.

Oh I agree with you there!  You can have great players, but if you don't have good coaching you are definitely going to fall short.  But if you have great players, it makes it easier....or you have a better chance of looking like a great coach.  In my opinion football is the sport where coaching makes the most difference, but it matters in all sports.  Amazing that the first year under Schmidt that basically the same players went from one of the worst defenses to one of the best.
