  1. I take that back...decent punt that time....thank goodness
  2. That punt is a killer...pushing us back like that....ugh.
  3. I think it's because EWU is the only team that Bison fans somewhat fear.....or feared. If they can play them at home verses the championship game....advantage NDSU. However after seeing how bad EWU's defense is....they are probably not as frightful as they were before. However with Adams back anything is possible with EWU. UND would be beating them with Adams out, he will be back for the playoffs. Big difference there.
  4. I think our defense will bounce back with a lot of intensity this weekend. However if Bartels can't play and we have to start a QB in who has never taken a snap.......we will see a broken record of 3 and outs and it will be a very ugly game.
  5. Well we know coach Glenn will have a two sided Bison coin
  6. BisonAlumni.....you should spend less time on here, then maybe you'd have time to be a big boy and manage your fantasy football team all by yourself. I'm done with this thread.
  7. 2011BisonAlumni.....you need to get out more and get a life. Better keep you away from tall buildings once the Bison lose a few games, apparently your whole livelihood and happiness is tied to the Bison being on top. You are definitely super insecure that you have to keep coming here and pumping up your chest. It is honestly really sad.
  8. I think he was making more a point about having passion in the game, and passion about the game. Rivalry games have more passion than the average game. The fact that you think the entire history of the UND-NDSU rivalry was not fun and people didn't enjoy it........well not that you had an credibility, but the tiny sliver of it that you may have had.... well you lost it.
  9. Dude.... I feel sorry for you then if that is how you feel, I really do. And if that is the case....then why don't you get the hell off here and go have some 'fun' on the SDSU site.
  10. By that, do you mean smarter than you....why thanks.
  11. You know this is really all getting kind of funny at this point. Last night after I read about 15 pages worth of posts and then went to bed, I actually laughed and smiled a little bit about it. The heat in this thread, is exactly why this game should be played periodically at least. This is a big rivalry and always will be! Yes I know Bisonalumni is so worried about any little thing that may somewhat tarnish NDSU being on top. I mean I kinda get that you are so worried about that. But you know what when the game rolls around.....who cares....it is going to be a great atmosphere!!! You've never been to one so you don't know it. At some point down the road.....who knows may take 10 or 20 years for you to admit it or see it.......you will probably admit it is good that the two schools play and knock horns. Beating NDSU is not better than a championship and nobody here has ever said that. It is a real fun game though that both players and fans on both sides get jacked up for. Once it happens......enjoy the game....it will be fun, don't sit and worry about only beating us by 14 points and therefore hurt your recruiting. Just enjoy the moment of the game, and then if you get to beat us you get to come talk some smack (somewhat respectfully I hope) and then years we win we get to talk smack to you guys. That is how it works and why it is a great rivalry and should be played periodically. Ok I think we are done here now on this topic (at least within this thread perhaps).
  12. I dunno....ready your Bison buddies 15 pages of posts about it, and bluntly admitted he is scared of what may happen from us playing.
  13. Montana ran the score up on us, so there is some true bad blood there. I think there is some very strong genuine dislike on our side for Montana. Even given them running up the score, we don't claim them as our biggest rival overall.
  14. Wow guess I started something with that one, didn't expect that. Spent an hour reading all of it to catch up.....but I'm too tired to post much now lol. Although I will say it was probably worth it to get him to admit he is scared.
  15. I don't go on BV but it sounds like that is the opinion there too. I've seen some Facebook posts from people in the past year saying they'd rather NDSU play other schools and not waste their time with UND. Then I also this past February when I was with my long time HS friend who went to NDSU about if the rivalry should be renewed, and just kinda shrugged and was like.....ehh, basically saying that nah we are past you guys and there is nothing good in it for us anymore. And this is a close friend who we went to the two schools in maybe the best part of the rivalry...early 90's who lived some of those great games so I thought he would agree it would be awesome to have that game back, and even he didn't really want it back. I agree UND-FB-FAN......they will always be our biggest rival. Out of teams we play regularly now I would say our biggest rival is easily Montana, but that doesn't come close to the UND-NDSU rivalry.
  16. That sucks that Coyle quit, I wonder if he felt he would never see the field or what. I was hoping at some point he would make some contributions, it's nice to see kids you watched in local High Schools make contributions to the team.
  17. I agree, I thought Montana was over rated when they were still at #7 before. Although if Adams isn't back by the time Montana plays EWU I'm thinking Montana beats them. I think part of the issue is that after the top rated team, non of the others teams really seem that scary so traditionally strong teams will remain ranked high. EWU can be scary with Adams but their defense is so poor, makes them less scary even when they have him.
  18. What happened to Devon Coyle from Mandan? He played QB and was a great point guard in basketball in HS. I was wondering about him earlier this year as I remember him being a stud in HS but hadn't heard anything about him. I lived in Bismarck at the time so saw him play a fair amount of basketball. I thought I checked the roster earlier in the year and saw he was still listed as a DB, but now I don't see him listed. If he was on the roster I think he'd be able to fill in pretty well as an emergency QB, he was a great athlete and made a ton of clutch plays in HS.
  19. My thoughts when this post was started was that we would lose to EWU, and then lose to one of the other teams. I think this still holds out.......we don't pull out a win at EWU but we win the remaining three. The NAU will be a nice win at home, we'll end the year with a road win and end up .500. I had thoughts of us barely getting to 3 wins after the Missouri game as well. Here is where the Bison trolls get to come in and give us crap about our low expectations, but the fact is it's a rebuilding year and if we end up .500 better than most would have thought. It's back to day by day the rest of the year and learn from this loss and keep making progress.
  20. I only watched the first couple of minutes....but wondering how a coach who just got his butt handed to his team, sits there with a smile on his face bragging about the other team. That is sad. He is definitely looking forward to swinging clubs down in AZ. I'd be pretty pissed if my coach looked that happy after getting beat down.
  21. The first few weeks you have to admit, Joe played pretty poorly and I think any QB that would have played that way would have received a fair amount of criticism. The last few weeks Joe had improved quite a bit, and I don't think there was as much criticism the last few weeks (but I could have missed some of it) and I think he gained some supporters that wanted to stick with him. I for one, when Joe got hurt the first time was like.....oh crap, just when Joe was looking good he got hurt now we have to take a step backwards again. However I think the last few week since Bartels came in the game and scored two TD's in his first full quarter against Portland, people saw some life in the UND offense and thought perhaps Bartels deserves a chance. The good news is, I think both are now capable of being productive. Yesterday was definitely just a bad and off day all the way around. I hope Joe is not seriously hurt either. At this point I don't know who gives us a better chance to win. I guess if Bartels is the starter the rest of the way, we will get to get a good look at him in this offense so that one way or another we know for next year who the starter should be. I really hope we aren't having this same debate next fall.
  22. I don't know the details but seems to be a ballsy move to go for it on 4th down with 50 seconds left when you have the lead. Our ballsy fake punt today didn't work out so well either.
  23. EWU hasn't been the same without their starting QB, it was a matter of time before somebody beat them. If he's not back in time to play Montana, I'd guess Montana will beat them too.
