Yep, as much as I hate to. If they shocked UC Davis next week.....that would certainly help, at least play them close.....since we don't play UC Davis. They also play Montana State who we don't play....might as well have them win to help us out.

I am very happy! I do wish we would have hung 50 on them though because we had a chance, but yeah that is just being greedy I know. I don't think Montana sucks.....I think we are pretty good and we also benefited from TO's, and we also capitalized on them.....which at times we have not done before. Let's remember Montana did beat UNA so I don't think Montana is complete crap (not that UNA is a great team, but still) . Of course people on the FCS page will of course have to think Montana sucks now because we beat them, we know that many of those other fan bases don't think we are for real so they will chalk this up to Montana sucking.....not us being good. I am pretty concerned about our ability to make FG's though. But yes this was a great day......and a long time coming.....I am very happy! Keep it rolling Fighting Hawks!

Do we recruit a new kicker? I mean we can't go the next three years with a shaky kicker who struggles on extra points and can't be counted on. Not to be mean to the kid but he is the poorest kicker we've had since I started following the team in 1990. He just doesn't seem to have it. Other freshman kickers were pretty good right out of the gate.

Watching the game online, I was thinking the crowd didn't seem that loud. However we were up 14-0 before some people probably got to their seat, and then we were up 21-0. Great to get up so quickly, but I think that may have played a small part of people not being that excited. While the game certainly wasn't in hand at that point, think it puts the crowd in a more relaxed state of mind instead of being more intense.

Great win. Injury to Palmborg stinks, didn't look good. JJ looked like he got a little banged up.....hopefully no other injuries so we can remain pretty healthy for next week.

I'm hoping....this is similar to what USD did to us last year. Going into that game last year......USD was somewhat snake bit in recent games....and last year was just there year for payback, this is our year to do it to Montana and demoralize them for the rest of the year! Keep on the gas!! Lot of time yet.

It's a combination of lack of respect for our program, and too much respect for theirs. Time to change that! Hope the coaches show them that, or somehow get our guys to have a chip on our shoulder tomorrow. Montana just got embarrassed last week, so I know they will have one on theirs. Since we've gotten our asses handed to us by Montana the last 4 years and no player on this team has ever beaten them, I would sure hope our guys have a chip on their shoulders tomorrow.

After listening to the podcast, I think i'm going to go with a closer game than I originally predicted. Sounds like Montana's offensive coordinator actually adjusts to overcome their own weaknesses and puts a game plan in place, not just the same 4 running plays each week. Montana turned the ball over a ton last week, also part of why they didn't score much. I still think we should win by 10 or more as the cards appear in our favor this time against them, but right now I am kind of trusting their offensive coordinator a lot more than ours which I think may keep it close. Sounds like their LB on defense is a stud, an amazing amount of tackles so far this season. That said I hope our front 7 destroys them and their QB is flustered and under pressure from the very first snap and we have broken their will by halftime, especially since we struggle to score in 3rd quarter. They will probably try a bunch of quick passes and screens.

I'm going with my Kelly Green glasses.....as to what I think should happen in this game: UND 31 - Griz 17 If they can't score more than 20 points at home against PSU I'd think we should be able to hold them to around that, SHOULD being the key word there. Diamond formation in backfield appears again this week with Santiago, Brady, and JJ. Not sure if we've seen that since the first game.
