  1. Awesome write up again Teeder, thank! I always look forward to your write ups more than the official ones that go out. It's really nice to know that we have are sitting so much better in the QB position going forward, that was great to hear about Boltmann. I think if Studs can get to 62-63% we'll be just fine.....would certainly take 65% though!
  2. I was going to mention that too, he wasn't necessarily a gun slinger. But honestly I didn't watch him play all that much so I didn't really want to post it and have a bunch of Bison fans jump all over me. He certainly was a winner though, and always made the clutch play at the right time. If you watch the greatest drive in NDSU history as they say, against K-State, I don't think he threw the ball more than 10 yards down field the whole drive. It was mostly dink and dunks, making smart decisions, hand the ball off, and scramble and run when need to. Studs can do that, not saying Studs is Brock, but he can do those things.
  3. 100% agree with this. The only way it could happen IMO if Studs was only playing average or below and then got injured and had to sit for two games, and the backup came in and completely lit things up for two straight games. Then coaches would have a decision. Nobody will overtake him just based upon what they do in practice. And hopefully none of the other guys get to see the field (meaning no injuries for Studs) except for mop up duty. As of right now, there isn't even a sniff of QB controversy.
  4. He definitely locks in on guys. I think the only way somebody knocks him off as starter is if they are REMARKABLY better, which I don't think is going to happen given Studs grasp of the offense and how few INT's he throws. While I do hope the backups push him to be better, I hope Studs does well enough so we don't have a QB controversy like we did a few years ago. Next year though, very well may have a QB controversy at least at the beginning of the year.
  5. I was on a football high a few weeks ago when the Big Sky Kickoff was going on, lots of good news on UND football up to that point. Then literally a couple days later Harris goes down for the year, then we started hearing grumblings about Grady and then finally heard he isn't back. Those two pieces of news had me a bit down for a while, but reading Teeder's write up has gotten me all excited again! I agree that was interesting to see the offense have so much success, granted to pads today so maybe that had something to do with it. But either way if our OL comes together we could really have something on offense this year with the weapons and experience we have. Also liked seeing the new JUCO CB make a play as well, he could end up being a very important pick up for us with Harris out.
  6. Says the guy who sits online everyday trolling the oppositions board waiting for a chance to poke in a negative comment as soon as he sees an opening.
  7. Yes but they only get one uniform, it's not like it's an alternate uniform. What if the football and hockey team wore black uniforms for every single home game for the next 10 years? Personal preference I guess, if it is your only uniform I'd like to see more green.
  8. Not sure how I feel about them being all black, maybe they will grow on me.
  9. Having a new Offensive Coordinator will certainly make it more difficult for us to game plan around as we won't be sure exactly what to expect, but definitely sounds like it will be a more open offense than in the past. We have historically been pretty good against the run, we would have preferred you stuck to run, run, run
  10. Use to get excited back in the day when Dressler was playing and we were about to receive the punt......hoped for a big play or even a score. Now I just pray they fair catch the ball without fumbling, and that they catch the ball before it hits the ground and bounces backwards another 20 yards. I am maybe being a bit hard on the return unit, but honestly I called it a win last year if we just fair caught the ball before it hit the ground.

    1. Reyes - I think he would probably be everybody's #1 2 Studs - We may have a decent backup now though, which hopefully we do which could move him out of the top 5. 3. Harris 4. Grady 5. D Rodgers As talented as Santiago is, speaks to the depth at RB that we could survive without him. However if Rudy ends up putting him all over the field he may become almost as important as when he was a freshman.

If you were to list the top 5 guys you would not want injured/not on roster for 2017 (including Harris and Grady) who would that be? Grady and Harris surely would be in the top 5 for most, sucks having two of the top 5 potentially not on the roster for 2017 and the season hasn't even started yet, heck practice hasn't even started yet!. Granted Grady wasn't on roster last year but sure sounded like he would be back and we were all expecting it up until recently.
  13. We did pin the other team inside the 10 yard line many times last year, with our guy catching the punt. They really did a nice job of that last year, i will compliment the punting team on that.
  14. I hope our Special Teams can actually be Special this year. Literally the most nervous time of the game for me is 1. When we punt the ball 2. When we receive the punt

After he attended the South Dakota football game last year, Kennedy came over to our banquet and he talked for a little bit. He said that Hockey is obviously a major sport at UND, but said there is no reason we can't also have a very successful football team, basketball team etc.. It's really nice to see a President that seems to genuinely care about athletics at UND. Also he just seems pretty down to earth and not too "stuffy", like you could actually have a beer and a real conversation with him.

So you are saying there is still time to drive and pick him up and get him to GF by 5:30 right?

Hate to be Negative Nancy, but my gut says we don't find out good news about Grady. If he was going to be back, seems like somebody would have heard something more on the positive side. Still hoping to hear he is back though and that I am wrong!

I hope Studs improves on the swing pass out of the backfield this year, need to hit that guy in stride.
  19. I don't have a Top 5, but I think whichever of these guys loses their RS would be my number 1 because they will be our speed guy and be very important to be able to stretch the defense and have a big impact on the entire offense, even when they don't get the ball. One of those guys gets a couple deep balls and big plays earlier in the year, defenses will have to be a bit more honest and be thinking about them.

Try telling that to Kylor Neale on the FCS Fans FB page, he is from EWU and would have none of this and probably call it Fake News. He is another loud and vocal hater of UND football on social media.

lol yeah no doubt! I remember sitting in the theatre thinking that if I had rented this and was at home I would shut it off and go to bed!
  22. Not sure why they would transfer.

I'd rather have them all be over confident going into the game, it's ok with me if they think that. Although if they have information saying 4 of our starting OL are true freshman....no wonder they are thinking that lol. If we were playing 4 true freshman on the OL I'd also say we wouldn't score more than 10 points against them. Their defensive front will already be a test for an OL that has some experience. I hope their entire team has a false sense of security going into the game and they overlook us.
