    2019 Season

Not sure if he would have started next year, but was thinking he was supposed to be one of our best recruits of that class wasn't he? Didn't he have a PWO from Iowa or something.
  2. Posting that pic was a total dick move, and even you know that.
  3. Even though he was the leading scorer, I bet Moody wasn't ecstatic about his game and feels he should have done/shot better. I certainly wouldn't say he was in the zone, he missed some shots badly.....air balled one and hit the back board on another. That said he still did score which was lacking from others, and he'll hopefully improve on defense as get gets more experience. I think the more he plays and gets comfortable his accuracy will improve.
  4. A legit transfer in at NG. Merry Christmas!
  5. Way less of a mistake than Ryan Leaf! He was proving to be pretty good and likely would have been the Super Bowl MVP last year if he didn't get hurt. Sure if he ends up always being injured it will prove to not turn out well, but he has proven he can play at a pretty high level and I don't think anybody has been considering him a bust.
  6. A lot of people seemed to be excited when we got Cloyd. Maybe he'll have a breakout year under a new OC.
  7. True, however I think it’s pretty normal for any fan base to be upset for a day or two upon hearing one of your best prospects that committed has changed his mind. Not necessarily upset at the kid, just upset in general for a day or two, especially given our QB situation the past 5 years. I was pretty damn disappointed when saw that he recommitted but I’m pretty much over it already, it is what it is.
  8. What position?

    2019 Season

NG to me is a bigger concern than QB. QB is obviously important as Kett just didn't have it at the end of the year, but between hopefully a better line, better play calling, Zimm or Boltmann....and hopefully QB getting coached up better....might be ok but still a concern. We could still play with what we have on the roster at QB right now if we needed to. However if we don't do something at NG we are in trouble. Having one undersized NG with very little playing time......ouch we will likely get gashed up the middle again like two years ago when we had no middle LB's.
  10. It also amazes me how they get guys completely wide open 4-5 times a game....with nobody within 7-8 yards. That one play where there RB ran kind of up the middle and all of the action rolled left, RB then went to the right and he was WIDE open in the endzone. Great play call and called at the exact right time. That was not superior Jimmy's and Joes, a QB and RB from Mayville State could have thrown and caught that.
  11. Watching that just reminds me of how bad it sucks we wasted the talents of Brady and John. Still feel bad for those two, all the seniors but particularly those two that they had to end their careers in such a bad way in such a pathetic offense at the end of the year. Great guys though, and I'm glad they are still positive about the University and the program.
  12. Looks like he might have a little bit of Brady in him.....runs pretty hard. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/2992294/5721da3c0428ae20e4d783ad#
  13. The original will never be able to be replicated, but keeping the nickel even if it’s different would still have some historical significance. Making up some new thing will have zero significance and will be forced. Sure 20 years down the road it may mean something if they come up with something new, but I think a newer version of nickel is a good option. Something so basic, but I hadn’t thought about just doing that but it makes sense.
  14. I’m in hell right now, drug to an NDSU watch party in Mesa because a buddy is down visiting for the weekend. At least it’s an excuse to start drinking at 10AM, definitely need to drink to put up with this.
  15. I like that idea
  16. What position is he expected to be playing at?
  17. It hurts losing Brady and Santiago, but we should have a pretty darn good backfield next year too with JJ, Gordon, and Weah. They all are a little different too so we'll have some different types of backs. The redshirts on the incoming RB's can hopefully be saved barring major injuries to those 3 and the incoming freshman will hopefully only get used in 4 games. If the OL can improve, and with better play calling to loosen things up some, hopefully that means the RB's will have some big plays.
  18. This kid sure seems to have the right work ethic and attitude that you love to have! Also if he plays LB and has 4.46 will certainly help us cover sideline to sideline better!
  19. Because it would probably REALLY piss off the people that wanted us to get rid of the Sioux name. They didn't want the us to have the name but somehow it would probably be considered disrespectful to melt it down and it would piss them off.
  20. I remember going on the field after they tore down the goal posts, will never experience that again. The 92 game in Fargo the year before was an all time great game too, the 91 game was really good too....even though we lost both of those. I was at UND 90-94 which was awesome being there during those years where we overtook them.
  21. If I lived up there, I'd be looking at trying to improve my season tickets to better seats for those that don't renew. As much as I wanted to make the playoffs going into the year, knowing we don't have to see that offense another game has me in a better mood about things than a playoff appearance does. Danny still obviously has a lot to prove, but now I feel we may actually have a chance to win some big games. We have a ways to go to get attendance where we'd like it, but I think the move to the MVFC and an improved offense will the better tickets hard to come by come 2020.
  22. No doubt when the first year is over he will look back at it and feel he is a better OC at the end of the year, and probably look back at a few situations and wish he'd done a few things differently. So there will likely be a few lumps, that said mostly all we've had is lumps for 5 years so I still feel we will be quite a bit better off than we were. I know he will prepare all he can, but nothing like actually going through the experience of it live to learn a few things.
  23. I think Danny being named the OC will give us a better chance to hold on to Cedric Case. Danny can call him and tell him more about what the offense will look like in the future, not what we've been doing. Heck after watching the last four games, I honestly didn't even want to watch our offense anymore.....much less play for it and dedicate my whole college career to it. Plus I think Danny was a shorter QB than the Prototype QB, and I believe Case isn't real tall either.....so Danny may be able to relate well to him on that also, and also give him confidence that he can be successful even though he's not 6'3 +.
  24. So this flip came in before Danny interviewed and was hired right? Was just curious what impact if any Danny had on this. Or maybe the kid just saw that we let Rudy go and assumed we'd be getting a better OC. Would be curious to know what the key factors in him flipping were.
  25. Initially I was hoping for some new blood when they let Rudy let go. But Danny's comments were spot on, I mean he literally stated virtually everything we have been saying on here for a couple of years, using screens, playing to players strengths etc. etc.. Danny was a good QB, doesn't always translate to great OC but I certainly feel better with him calling plays, and coming up with some new plays and schemes. He is going to have a busy off season preparing a new play book so he has it ready to start implementing by spring practice. It seems like he has been a very dedicated and hard worker for UND football and I have confidence that he will do his best this off season to prepare for next year.
