  6. I'm guessing there's two or three on their message board who keep telling others to get over it over and over and over and over again.
  7. The name Golden Eagles has been around since 1994, so depending which grudge they're concentrating on, 13-24 years they've been dealing with it.
  8. It's a great name for a school in New Mexico, or a condom. For the millionth time, the actual Roughriders had nothing to do with North Dakota, so I don't see how it met the criteria at all. In this world of political correctness, no one can tell me with a straight face "Roughriders" would not at some point be construed as old indian hatin' wild west cowboys, and we'd face backlash at some point and have the same nickname dilemma all over again. No nickname was the correct choice as it was supported by the majority of the public. After that, Nodaks.
  9. ah yes those Marquette Golden Eagles.... no nickname issues there, right? Everyone just jumped on board on day one and accepted the big yellow bird, never uttering the word "Warriors" ever again.... Please everyone, join me for a trip down memory lane and let's see how force feeding lame names and/or logos has gone over historically... https://wiki.muscoop.com/doku.php/nickname/start
  10. switching gears back to the mascot vote..... the three choices the students have to vote on remind me of the recent Russian election:
  11. I will buy and wear both, continue to cheer on UND, and reserve the right to hold the opinion that the logo is lame.
  12. Wow. They used green! What a great idea! Too bad SME only hires the color blind. I would take choice "W." (any of the three but without the logo on the shirt.)

    2018 Season

Not a player, but, I'm anxious to see how Rudy's lobotomy changes up the offensive schemes.
  14. There we go; it'll be a mocking bird.
  15. Thanks for proving one of my points: "Dropping the name" bickering was inevitable. "Having to pick a name" bickering would have been resolved by not having one. "Which process" bickering, again, not needed if the majority's wishes would have been listened to.
  16. I don't think it's any of those people's faults. On either end of the spectrum. It's more the fault of the process, and how they made up the rules as they went along, and didn't follow the rules they laid out to begin with. After that, I blame SME and the University's leadership for accepting their lamest of lame logos, which just added fuel to the fire. What about this logo says "fighting" to you? No color, no expression...just Charlie Brown in his halloween bed sheet laying on his side. Even though I think the logo is bland and pathetic I do have about 7 or 8 shirts with the logo... I've become indifferent to the whole situation, and I hate to admit it but i'm more looking forward to how hopeless this mascot is going to look so I can laugh at it, than I am looking forward to seeing a great mascot design.
  17. WE ARE NORTH DAKOTA seemed to work ok. Where was the bickering between the day the name was officially dropped and the day the nickname process started? The only bickering I recall was a very few people being upset some fans were still chanting a retired, unofficial name at sporting events. Which is still happening, and out of the control of the university.
  18. Well....how has that worked out so far? Seems to be a lot of complaining about how quickly some are assimilating, and the enthusiasm some are displaying towards the new name and logo. Just in the last couple days I've read on here fears about prospective students not coming to UND, or donations possibly dwindling because of all the infighting. Those very arguments are coming from your side, the side that demands everyone embrace the most generic of names, along with the most lame of logos, in the history of sports. Is this what the university truly wanted? I hope not.
  19. It's really unfortunate the no nickname option was cast aside. We wouldn't be having any of this constant bickering on here and throughout social media if those in charge of the process would've done the right thing.
  20. If we're following the design and color scheme of the logo, tell me how this is not going to be the new mascot:
  21. Fighting can go away for the others, but it has to be there for Fighting Sous Chefs to make sense. #Rollingpins
  22. Fighting Sous Chefs. Phonetically the same. And a clear frontrunner for the mascot:
  23. I just hope it has big boobs.
