Yes, excellent point. The offense comes to a standstill when he gets it down low. He has such an advantage being so tall to be able to throw it back out over the sagging perimeter defenders if he would just keep the ball up and look around.

that sucks, the Weber game was disastrous too. He doesn't have the strength yet to be effective. It's not a problem that more experience/playing time is going to solve. He picks up what appear to be cheap fouls because he doesn't have body control which results in his arms flailing around like one of those giant advertising inflatables. All that said, he can still play a role on this team in certain situations. I think he gets too amped up and the result is early fouls. Let him sit and watch the flow of the game for awhile and perhaps calm down a bit, and then come in for Avants.

I missed the game last night so can't comment on it. But, given Shanks performance and limited minutes, I wonder if Jones will consider having Avants start. On the one hand it's nice to have a scorer come in fresh as the sixth man, but on the other hand, oftentimes Avants comes in two minutes in to the game or half, and is expected to play 10 + minutes straight, gets a breather, and then finishes the half or game. It would be nice to see Shanks come in twice in relief of Avants to spread out Avants minutes better.

There's clearly some roughrider butthurt still out there, but you're definitely taking the healthiest approach, as are the majority.

Great game last night. I liked how even when up 20ish the effort was still there defensively. ISU may have the weakest post game in the league. Weber, possibly the best. As always against Weber, a big game. Hoping for a very cordial, affable, congenial Brian Jones in the handshake line tomorrow night.
