I hope there aren’t any fights in the stadium, parking lots, or bars….but rethinking this…maybe just no permanent injuries….. me being a nurse and all!!!

As I was leaving the Fargodome…maybe ?3 years ago… the man working and helping seat/direct people commented on my UND t-shirt. I explained my connection and he said he was a UND graduate. “No way, my whole life, would I cheer for NDSU. I would not be in the Fargodome unless they paid me.” We both laughed. I would love it if we beat them in OUR Alerus. Go UND

And what else could they pull out of their hat? The inaugural “Hawk Walk” thru the PUBLIC halls of the Alerus with the cheerleaders forming a walkway on the field as the team enters, filmed from the start by a drone and on the big screen…..with the band playing, the fans standing and clapping…it would help the ambiance and rile up some enthusiasm. You local big boys, GOBC, get on this….. right away! The whole state will be watching. Much better than an inflatable helmet.

I like the Hawk Walk against NDSU….this should NOT be rocket science and take 9 months. Can’t someone say “Send me, send me” and get it done It is not like the team is on ice skates and crossing a freeway…..

It is true you rise to the competition. So is dead the game or atmosphere? The atmosphere is NOT the coaches…. But who? How to improve it? Need to improve by the 2024 season and start now.

Bubba coaches…the PR, marketing, and game hype belong to someone else. That is needed to grow the program too. The more Bubba and his staff have to do these marketing tasks, the less time they have for coaching. I assume the AD has staff in place for other programs? Get more people involved….

Sickota…not sure I totally agree with you. RT handed Dale a motivated, well disciplined team that was committed to play their best for UND. Now with the transfer portal and NIL issues, much of that has changed. So, what a future coach will get is much different and it is no one’s “fault.” Just changes in society and college sports.

To clarify: my down vote was NOT change. It was your bad mouthing previous coaches. I would publicly thank Roger Thomas, Dale Lennon, and Bubba for what they have done for UND football. Now let it rest and focus on what positive changes can be made in the future, both this season and beyond.

Actually, I left the game early. I decided my memories were better than the reality. I remember being in a much smaller stadium and watching the game in a blizzard. At half time every woman ran to the concrete block bathroom which was heated (much like going to the car at Memorial and turning the heat on high and putting your feet by the vents). We totally trounced them but the announcer did not say “Tackled by the entire Fighting Sioux defense.” I beat the traffic ham on my way out.
