Coaching changes, for whatever reason, that we’re too frequent. No finger pointing or specific person/reason.....just a fact.

Does anyone know if they are working on the announcer situation and not waiting until the second week of August? Just wondering!
-
Great comments... we ARE talking public money here. Yes, donations too but this is public property.... should be transparent, I would think.
-
Should we have tents then?

Good Luck Mason!!!

Well in MN, St. Thomas got voted out of the MN Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They are requesting going from D3 right to D1... NCAA rules say you have to be D2 for 5 years. So, the NCAA Vision and Planning Committee ( doesn’t everyone have a committee like that?) was positive. The change must be approved by the Division I Council which meets in April. Seems some rules can change....

Thank you.... do you think a 4.0 student in a science program who is paying her/his own way, other than academic scholarships, would wonder why??? We are talking about public dollars or are these private/foundation dollars.
-
WOW.... not sure how I feel about this.....do colleges do “cost of attendance” for non-athletes??
-
The parameters were fuzzy.... how many hours were just “life.” To many gray areas in this whole NCAA issue...

Jeopardy Question: what is pro sports? Seriously? You forgot going to the bathroom....Do you want to track hours, get paid, and submit a bill for TP too? i rest my case about unknown issues and abuses.... this statement leaves the door wide open!

The last on-line survey I took asked gender. There were 5 answers and none were male or female. I checked other and wrote in female. I did not even recognize the 5 categories! Lots of time, effort, and money are being spent on gender issues right now....I withdraw my request!!!

My husband worked for a major, world wide company. There was a man he worked with that sounded like this. The joke was...”Oh just go ask 1-800.” So years later I am sewing costumes and he did not like the ascot I sewed. He showed me a google image of the right way to sew an ascot. My first thought was... ask 1-800.

I also agree with Siouxphan’s post....

Point is... with all of your statements it seems even more obvious that many issues will arise... some we can’t even think of yet. I don’t buy this will improve/regulate sponsorships. Didn’t they make that argument with prohibition? And they had so, so many agents to monitor compliance. Don’t do anything... this too shall pass.

Well said!

Thank you for posting that and the 41 minute mark.... great info from Hunter and Bubba!

This is NOT a one college, one sport, one player question. The focus is much broader... much. There are too many implications to consider...things get way out of hand. Sadly, you seem to see this from a very narrow perspective. Your player knew the rules when he signed up. He can do the camp after he graduates. Shouldn’t he be focused on the team and his S & C and not on promoting himself to adoring youth all summer long? What is wrong is the rather selfish “I want” mentality. I just would not support this type of sponsorships for college athletes. That is my opinion, that’s all.

Shakespeare: Me thinks she doth protest too much! yup, black market for sure siouxphan: do you see multiple juice sponsorships in the future???
-
Bison06: I basically disagree with everything... sponsorship never equaled the schools paying...where did that come from? when they go pro, have them sell their likeness to General Mills for the. Wheaties box. Until then shut up and put up.... I do not think it is appropriate for public tax money to go to this and you KNOW, totally KNOW each college would pay a whole new department to manage sponsorship of athletes. if the wash machine ain’t broke, don’t spend time and money to fix it.
-
Sorry... I think sponsorship would change MANY aspects of college sports... recruiting for sure, off season for many reasons, and even coaching since you know coaches could be “featured.” I am basically not in favor of it. Leave the pro players on the Wheaties box and keep college sports as college sports.

Where to?

Could be impacted by the NCAA change in college sponsorships...
