  1. Schleusner has also recruited some of the best players UND has had.
  2. 2 QB runs when we need a yard .nice. what are the odds we run johanneson twice and don't get a yard
  3. Agree. We have been hearing since spring that freshmen would be playing on the offensive line. Those boys should have been ready for a.lot of playing time. The excuse that they are young doesn't work when you have known for the past 6 months that they would be playing.
  4. I agree that bubba is unlikely to make a change unless the situation is dire, but if he did, I wonder if Jeff Tesch from Bemidji State would be interested?
  5. I'm going to have to say disheartening.
  6. I don't think we rolled thru the big sky last year. We were a couple plays away from being 7-4, and that doesn't count barely beating Idaho State. Our offense wasn't anything special last year. In 2015 the offense was helped by 3 all conference line men in the middle, a healthy Stockwell, and Grady. Not sure that there is any body of work from Rudy that shows Rudy to be a top notch o coordinater. Bubba liked Rudy because he felt he did a great job at St cloud state... At that time they had a great RB, and I think Randy hedberg was the head coach. Rudy's success at St cloud might have more to do with that.

    Game Day at PSU

    Hard to argue with that.

    Game Day at PSU

Would have liked to see what Zim could have done against that defense, our receivers were getting open. Still not overly impressed with Rudy, but he did show some willingness to throw the ball in the first half for a change even when we were only down by 7. Saw a simple pass to Santiago go for 8 yards, don't know why we can't do that more with our backs, they can catch. Losing flowers next week will hurt. Should only be for the first half.
  9. Isn't Zimmerman going to be a senior next year?

    Pluto

I haven't had great luck with casting from the Pluto app on my phone to Chromecast. Wondering if others have experienced the same? How about those who use Roku? And if it works well, are you casting to Roku from a device, or running the app directly on Roku?
  11. Agree with a lot of this, but not sure Keaton is twice the QB Zim is. I like Zims arm better, and if you were going to make a highlight reel of great passes this year, Zim might have the top five. Zim does have a couple of strip sacks to his credit over his past two games, but then again so does Keaton. Zim might have a higher ceiling and seeing him throw the ball some more is one of the few things I am looking forward to this season.
  12. No. That's what everyone else does. Although... everyone else is beating us... maybe that would work. But your talking about a pretty big move for a coach who doesn't seem to embrace change.
  13. Correct, But Rudy's job as the implementation guy is where the change needs to start. We must have one of the worst 3rd down conversion rates in FCS And I hope bubba recognizes that if your game plan isn't working, you adjust BEFORE the game gets out of hand.
  14. I here the "complex" argument about the offense and defense all the time. Either our coaches need to do a better job of teaching it, recruit only geniuses, or find schemes they are capable of teaching.
  15. Doubt we get a hockey guy. We have maxed out what we can get from hockey, and if Kennedy wants to grow the University, he will pick someone who can lead the FB and BB programs to the next level, not necessarily FBS, but at the least solid growth in FCS

    2017 Season

Not the same Hockey rolls 4 lines, and can drop down to 3. In fact a lot of schools play with just 3.
  17. Agree with most of this. Not sure we are at the dumpster fire level yet, but do see a program that doesn't appear to be able to adapt well. Do you think if Montana or Eastern Washington had our offensive unit they wouldn't find more ways to get Santiago in space, or find a way to keep other teams from playing 9 in the box against us. I like the run first mentality, but sometimes that isn't going to get the win.

    2017 Season

Night and day difference between that and this year. Hanson threw for 660 yards in one game that season. Hendrickson Hanson could be seen as a toss up. You can't say that this year.
  19. As did SD, Montana State, and UC Davis, on both sides of the ball. The defense has a little bit of an excuse, but the offense not so much. I am worried what our offense will look like in the hands of someone who doesn't know the difference between heidlebaugh and Zimmerman when we don't have 3 stud RBs
  20. Wonder what our third down conversion percentage is over the last 4 years. People can talk TOP all they want, but it is an overrated stat as UC Davis showed us this year. Our offense, even with studsrud hasn't been good at picking up first downs when we need them

    2017 Season

You're kidding right? What's next? They're just unfortunate victims of society? Pot hurt these guys big time.

    Pluto

Casting Pluto TV to Chromecast doesn't work well. Looking forward to UNDs games being on ESPN3, which casts MUCH better
  23. Not seeing it
  24. On the flip side, here are some quotes from Mark Asanovich, a guy with extensive experience as a strength and conditioning coach in the NFL. 1) "The principle of specificity states that training/practice must BE SPECIFIC to an intended skill in order for skill improvement for carryover to occur. Specific means exact or identical, not similar or just like. Therefore, accelerating a bar from the floor or knee-height-position by a forceful rolling of the hips may somewhat assimilate driving off the line of scrimmage-but the truth of the matter is, Olympic lifting will only improve one's skills at Olympic lifting and nothing else." Discussing the false notion of using the quick lifts to develop better tacklers. 7) "The fact of the matter is that ballistic resistance training is unproven and/or unproductive at best, and potentially dangerous at worst (especially in prepubescent athletes). Ballistic resistance training, like any momentum-assisted movement, violates the most fundamental principle of strength development, that being, the Overload Principle."Discussing the risk vs benefits of ballistic training methods for traditional sport athletes.
  25. He red shirted his first year due to injury so there is a chance he would be eligible for a medical red shirt, but a shoulder separation doesnt usually end your season. Then again , he was icing his elbow.
