All the players for the Sioux seem to be competing for who gets the first assist.

Well that was fun. Do we have a young untested defense or a young defensive coaching staff or “a failure to communicate”?

That would be great. I do feel sometimes there are to may passes and the pass gets to be predictable and the opponent cleaves off the pass and transitions the other direction.

Wow those UND defensemen developed quickly.

I have been happily against NDSU winning for over 50 years. That was back in the days of Gus to Gus.

Have not been in Grand Forks for some time. Not since my last child graduated from UND. Is the Townhouse Motor Inn still in operation? Seems like just yesterday I started as a freshmen student at UND. Moving off campus and shopping at my corner store at First Avenue North and Washington. It was a Hugo’s store and I also met Hugo himself who was very elderly and carefully stocking shelves. I saw that lot become the Townhouse Motor Inn and I was there on the opening day as the first night auditor. Enjoy your time at UND and your time in Grand Forks, time and life go by quickly.

Hopefully these games are not replacing Lindenwood University Lions games. I would rather see Lindenwood in the NCHC before St. Thomas.

Oops forgot to mention the exciting new coach is Defenseman Dillon Simpson.

I agree. The good news is that this coaching staff has a track record of turning out quality defensemen. Starting with Brad Berry’s Defensive skills that paid dividends in playing at Division 1 and NHL. Add in Dane Jackson’s experience playing at Division 1 and NHL as a quality forward helps defensemen develop communication and execution in transition between forwards and defensemen. The same can be said about the outstanding skill and experience of goalie Karl Goehring helping the defensemen and goalies work constructively together. Then the brilliant move by Brad Berry and the rest of the coaching staff to invite a highly experienced professional and former Sioux player to join the coaching staff. This should be a bonus to helping develop the defense.

For defense it is going to depend on how long it takes for the defense to accept playing Sioux hockey defense.
