No, not here, but remember to just take it one game at a time and it ain't over 'til it's over.

Hrbek signed a home town "discount" contract, along with Puckett (who was from Chicago but adopted Mpls as hometown), Mauer though sought and got his hometown "plus" contract knowing the Twins could ill-afford not to sign him so he tightened the noose. Thx Joe.

Fact, Goofer men's hoops #228 and UND #227. They (Minn) are historically bad.
-
He was in street clothes Sat with the team. Quite sure he's academically ineligible. Wish we had him, he would be coming off the bench instead of Shanks.
-
Yah, Atl in '98 (following the 15-1), when G. Anderson missed from 40 yds or so after being perfect all season...Voo-doo reigns over the Vikes.
-
: -) I could of made a 27 yard fg, seriously.
-
NCHC needs to get to 10 teams and offer to Minn State-Mankato and the opportunity to join.
-
They (SCSU administration) was arguably the most outspoken against the Fighting Sioux nickname/logo issue yet had the most complaints/legal issues filed against them. Can't make it up.
-
I was just thinking the Vikes were a poor man's Denver Broncos (okay offense, good defense) this season and if they up both a notch next season no reason they can't make the Super Bowl. Hell, we should of beat Denver on the road there this past season..

Wow, the state of U Minn athletics teams. And sport #3, football soon to follow... Could U Minn soon be impeached from the Big 10?
-
Another bad loss tonight, 4-1 to the Blues. Fire Yeo (albeit, not all his fault), get a new coach, and blow this team up in 4 weeks if it doesn't change. This losing/non-winning streak is getting ridiculous from a team expected to surely make the playoffs and maybe even contend. I dare say Philly, who was expected to be in the lower 1/5 of the NHL's teams and not make the playoffs, has gotta have near the same record as Minn now (more with less). Hmm.....

Agree, mental side is his weak point but having some hands would sure help him too.

Okay, no natties since 2000 for hockey team but they are always in the top 5 or so nationally every year it seems and like 14 straight NCAA tourney berths. UND football, since 2000, has the 1 div 2 nattie and probably not one NCAA tourney birth since like 2005 maybe? It ain't just the arena, believe me.

For Sale: 2 LB tix for UMD 2/19

$125? Can't you just be happy getting cost if you're not going to use them? Blimey. -
I love both UND hockey and football, avid fan of both for nearly 40 years. Your poll is in ref to NFL football, no surprise there it's #1 in the U.S. Need to compare NCAA div 1-A ice hockey though to lower tier div 1-AA (FCS) football. Some folks care about one of them or both of them while many folks could care less about either. Both are on pretty similar playing fields I would say. In fact, on the world's stage ice hockey is certainly bigger than football (UND sends players to world tourneys playing for national teams, not so in football). Me, I love both sports and enjoy 'em both at UND.

I like it like that. For FSN's hyped Hockey Day in Minnesota/State of Hockey/blah blah blah the Gofes fall at home to Lil 6 hockey power Penn State and then former Gofer Mr. Vanek is a healthy scratch for the Wild at Blues.

Yah, about 20-25 football players and very vocal and choreographic--great to see. I'm guessing Bubba though will have a talk with the ankle grabber thong guy though--I'm sure he did not like that...
-
Gotta admit I do like Smith's developing confidence (still at times doesn't look so confident). No doubt though, a big presence in the middle and slowly picking up points underneath. IMO turnovers are what appear to be what will define the season/result each game. If they can limit them...
-
Where did the late great Walter Payton go in the draft (I assume pretty high...) or are we just talking QBs?
-
I really do like your enthusiasm but my excitement is curtailed. Yes, it was another win tonight but considering it was at home... It seems like we are beating average teams. It sure doesn't come easy. I just don't see us winning many if any games on the road the remainder of the season or winning on neutral court at BSC tourney. Zhablla (sp?) and Knox have really digressed this season, Lloyd still decent but not what she was her soph and jr seasons, there's no consistent outside shooting threat (Dyer is the only one but is hot and cold), and we just don't have that dual combo-platter inside/outside player (such as a Maddie Buck or Troy Huff). I make all the home games and it's really tough to watch this team at times. Sure hope they prove this negative Nancy wrong, really!
-
You make a real good (but not so obvious) point Burd. I'm guessing it helps that UND has so much depth, makes them more inclined perhaps than many teams not to rush injured players early.
-
I imagine that could well be the same argument Eaves would put forth. Well put, MafiaMan. Gee, just can't help but wonder why the Flyers picked up Haks and not Sandy, Dean. Eaves,... I mean the guy couldn't win a nattie to save himself. : -)

UND FIGHTING HAWKS @ Western Mich - FRIDAY Gameday
GDPritch replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Yah, we had better. Starting to sense the Fri night blues. Lost to Neb-O at home, blow huge lead and tie lowly 8th place CC, and tonight struggle to get past lowly 7th place W Mich. Yah, I know we're lacking some firepower with the injuries but come on guys, it takes us nearly a full game to score against a porous defense? It's a win but spoiled we are I guess. -
