ESPN could care less about hockey 97% of the time. It's all NBA.
-
Not me. Frozen Faceoff trophy can mean you got hot for 2 games to win it. To win the Penrose you were the best team for a full conference season. (can't be hot/lucky over a full season to win that).
-
Ahh, I getcha.
-
Come to think of it, did I even hear Luke Johnson's name once?
-
Didn't the Sioux win the 3rd place game at Target Center 2 seasons ago?
-
Regarding your first statement above, that's exactly what I said on here a few days ago. Coaches are all about routine, familiarity, ... so why veer from Fri night & Sat night?
-
Too late too little but it actually looked like it was a good few inches over the line. Amazed they didn't justify reviewing it. Can make a ton of great saves from inside the goal.
-
Brilliant!

Good question. Would rather see her in there vs Knox. Knox scares me against the press although admittedly did better against it tonight than previously this season.
-
Simple question but would have to fire Jones first based on the resume.

He did look like a whiner on the sideline but then UND's coach can be a whiney one too. I think the 1,263 was probably accurate/fairly close, not a large crowd by any means. I thought it was great to get another home game although I'm guessing UND took a financial hit on it but probably felt it was worth the hit in the long run perhaps.
-
Wow, surprising. Then he needs to shoot more treys...not less. Yeah, I saw him. He was a hoot at times. My guess he may have said a few words that weren't exactly appropriate for a public area but that's just a hunch.
-
You're missing he point though. It's nothing to do with home many games Johnson missed but how many games he played to at least have a large enough sample size so to speak (like requiring say 475 at bats to win the batting average crown in MLB) to measure one's season. Johnson played 28 games while Vesey played 30 games so just 2 less games. Basically Johnson played enough games to measure his season. If one says 28 games isn't enough then quite possibly one could say 30 games isn't enough either.

Hey, thx for the info. Although a big Sioux hockey fan, I keep track of Mankato as daughter is a frosh there and would love to see MSU join us in the NCHC (if they desire to do that), seems like a real decent program and half-decent rivalry with UND was forming over the last decade or so prior to big WCHA bust-up.
-
Good notes. Yah, other than Q Hook and Crandall & McBuckets at times, everybody else's ft shooting is woeful--these guys each need to shoot 200 fts a day over the off-season. Man, Crandall can sky, incredible air. One real bad foul I recall tonight was at about the 40 second mark and believe we're up by 2 or 3 and Bernstein fouls an Anteater a bit above the 3 pt line when he starts to try to go around him, I just didn't get that (guy made 1 of 2 fts I think).

Believe he said UND would win the Big Sky Conf.
-
No disrespect but doesn't SDSU play all their Summit League post-season hoops conf tourney games basically at home?
-
Yeah, good point. If my boss wasn't gone I no doubt would be there (I'm filling in). If the Sioux win though on Fri I do plan to be there Sat night.
-
I get ya but I thought it was all about routine/sameness so 24 hrs between games like during the season on back to back nights...Last year at Target Center I believe the Sioux played at 4:00 Fri and it wasn't pretty.
-
Hope UND doesn't come up "short".
-
At my job not too hard to get Fri afternoon but this year hard get all day Fri in order to make 4:00 game, likely won't happen. Don't understand logic at all in picking 4:00 vs evening game for fan purposes.

MN Goofers--Duluth, St Cloud, Mankato & Bemidji rejects.
-
Or after we swept a decent UMD 4 games to 0 this season. Yeah, maybe.
-
Ditto, spot on analysis. These past 2 wknds we stepped on throats of 2 inferior opponents. While that may sound to some like what's the big deal, during this season in particular games we struggled/had tough go at its against not so very good teams Maine (neutral site tie), Bemidji (road tie), Wis (HOME loss), Ala-Huntsville (1-0 UND home win) and CC (5-5 home tie). Blowing out CC and W Mich last wknd was no foregone conclusion (see proceeding sentence) but UND did just that, taking care of and doing what they needed to do and what was expected.
