UND FIGHTING HAWKS vs. UMD Bulldogs - SATURDAY Gameday
GDPritch replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Sandy said before tonight's game though pretty much like "let's hope (or let) the players decide the outcome tonight". You know, if you take out a guy who's coming in on a clear scoring chance and w/o any attempt at playing the puck then you're going to put in in the hands of the refs, whether they rule a penalty shot or penalty for 2 min power play. To take it out of the hands of the ref then don't do that, okay. Cripes. -
Not sure what happened with him but he was on the bench in street clothes.
-
My God, what a freaking shame. They finally get some students (albeit majority ftbl players) at the game but 4 ushers and 1 security guard have to dampen the spirits.
-
God forbid, plesae, it's not the same jokers who run the FCS playoff selections...!

UND FIGHTING HAWKS vs. UMD Bulldogs - FRIDAY Gameday

You got that WRONG Dog colored shades Biddco, it WAS a PS. Clearly the Dog player was totally beat, made no play whatsoever for the puck, and his only goal was to take out the Sioux player (can't blame him at all given the situation and his positioning)--and he succeeded--and the resultant call was proper. -

If he is, I gotta assume he was being sarcastic, no...? -

I hear you. I love watching Sioux hoops (and T-wolves and Goofers when they're half decent...so not often) but the number of timeouts is so very annoying. Play the freaking game, my God! -
Uh, that's exactly what I've been wondering. If he's healthy, certainly that's got to enter the thought process I would think.
-
He needs to grow up at times. I think he thinks it's cool to look lazy but that don't work most times.
-
I just saw the wings thing too and I'm on the same page, I like it.
-
Yah, I yelled at the screen on that one. Would of thought either Larry, Curly or Moe (one of 'em!) would of caught that.
-
I certainly agree with you, I got to view the Fri game but not the Sat game and can't put the losses on Cam as on most goals he was one on one. My only thought though is that despite the deficiencies in the defensive play that Cam never really came up with any big saves (e.g. DU breakaway Sat night for 3rd goal) to minimize the damage and keep the team in it (which he's done earlier this season). Maybe I missed a few of those saves, if so I'll stand corrected.

Exactly, which now is nearing .500 but that's in danger of plummeting further. Haks in Philly has about the same record on the season (yeay, a long ways to go yet) as the Wild do but with a team that was expected to be in the lower 1/4 of the league, unlike the wild who were looking I believe to be in the top 10. Not all on Yeo I guess but gotta do something to shake it up, seems like a very underperforming and fragile team.

The replay review surely overturned the goal, didn't it? If not, are they blind?

I pointed out same just a few week ago. Sioux have total of 4 losses and 3 ties on the season but Fri night results (particularly at home) not as good as Sat nights. Tied lowly Bemidji, lost to lowly Wis, pulled out just a 1-0 win vs lowly Ala-Huntsville, tied lowly CC (blowing huge lead) and also losses to qlty teams Omaha and Den. Good news though, they have been road warriors this season and tomorrow's Saturday!
-
Yah, very cold goalie but equally very cold defense.
-
Yah, Brew's Crew does it again. Man, nice streak, but they sure make it difficult. Not pretty doing it and every game close but they keep pulling them out despite continuing trouble at times with Knox and Szhablo (sp?) in handling the ball with care.

Klabo is really starting to come on as a frosh. She's definitely earned a spot in the top 7 or 8 rotation and looks to be moving up even higher. I like her moves inside and agility considering her height. She's gonna be a good one, no doubt. The other two frosh looked good tonight too, provided spark.
-
Maybe not but my point was he was a "human highlight reel since age 12" (as the poster posted) and now not doing very well as a college senior. Maybe just a slump (albeit, nearly half a season) in his sr season. 8 pts in 16 games is certainly a slump, guessing he hopes that's all it is.
-
Hmm, maybe. Tonight they played a really good 3rd period to get the game tied up and probably deserved that 4th goal but lost in ot. Effort there and result should have been better but sooner or late though puck luck and/or up against a hot goalie run their course. I did figure though when Dal go the 3rd goal to go up 3-2 in 2nd period I belive that it was very doubtful Min with their lack of goal scoring could get 4 goals to beat them. Sure enough, that came true.

Hah, that's exactly what AC fans thought too in the late 80s/very early 90s (we lost like 10-12 years straight to the knuckleheads) but then it changed.....
-
Yah, regionalization. No different than UND women's hoops in the late 80s to mid 90s. They were consistently a top ten to top five D-2 team nationally yet couldn't even advance past their own NCAA region to the national final 8 as NDSU was super team too (that obviously changed late 90s to early 2000s). Not really fair but that was the system in place.
-
No different than that U.S. soccer player who was a prodigy like at age 15 (Freddie Adue, the supposed next Pele) yet never became anything special at the pro level as an adult. Same as with many teenage female pro tennis players of years past. Reach their highest level/burn out at an early age. Thought Michelle Wie (sp?) was going to be in that group too although she's been quite successful as a pro (dominating though, no).

Wow, blast from the past. Yah, I recall that game at Hyslop like I recall the 2001 football NCAA semi-final home game vs Cal-Davis. The place was rocking. Believe me, I don't believe it was uncommon at all in the 70s and late 80s/early 90s to get 3.5k to 5k+ attendance at Hyslop for some games.
