  1. Did I just read that Drake's football coach resigned after going 33-22? If so, in light of that, what's Bubba's record over past 5 years? As good as that?
  2. Yup, ranked ahead of Mia-FL, Wis, Mich St, N'Western, Boise St, among others. Why they haven't moved up by now confounds me, can't imagine UND playing D-2 hockey as a powerhouse for near a decade and staying at that level. Sooner or later it will happen I guess...
  3. GF Herald on-line story on today's game: "Iowa State scored the first 8 points but the Hawks did hang around for the first 4 minutes, trailing 9-6. But UND later went through a nearly 9-minute scoring drought and the Cyclones took advantage, going up 38-9." Oh man, times are indeed bad when story says "did hang around for the first four minutes". It's damn near impossible to NOT hang around for the first 4 minutes, isn't it? and I think "drought" is perhaps being kind. Yoy, yoy, yoy. Tough days indeed.
  4. Hey, I hear you. I see NDSU lost at home tonight to Milwaukee by just 2 pts, better showing points-differential wise than UND did on Fri. SD schools no doubt are head and shoulders above ND so far in the D-1 era.
  5. Uh, yup, quite the insightful article/game summary. Should expect nothing less I guess from a big metro paper.
  6. Not sure about that, these last 2 seasons we haven't actually to heard it very much. I would actually like to get a little tired of it.
  7. Get ready to rumble in the Summit! I believe just a few weeks ago S Dak beat Iowa St by a half dozen points or so.
  8. Yup, my first take was he (I assume) was indeed being sarcastic. Had to be.
  9. WTH? Klabo didn't make a bucket in the 1st half? Wow.
  10. It really was a much bigger sport at UND in the 70s, 80s, and into the 90s if I recall. Heck, at today's game there were close to as many cheerleaders and dance team girls in attendance as there were students. I didn't even see a band.
  11. I'm not a sushi eater but there can't be that many sushi restaurants in town, are there (not that Sakura can't necessarily be good I guess)?
  12. I hear ya, so freakin' naughty but effin tasty...
  13. I've been pretty fortunate service-wise at Wild Bill's (food-wise I'm so damn unfussy that I'm not a good judge) in my several visits there but at the Tavern in Canad Inn two of my last four trips on a mid-Sat afternoon over the last 2 - 3 years it has not been super busy at all yet meal has taken like a good 45 min to be served. Blew me away how slow the service was despite not being super busy at all.
  14. Agree, we had the pedal to the metal late 3rd period and in most of the ot. It took a deflection by Den to win it late. I really think UND wanted it more or at least had most of the play late at least. Sometimes it just comes to bounces (and lack of finishing).
  15. Agree 100%. DU is decent, for sure, but I think they're not St Cloud or Duluth. I think in the NCHC it will be St Cloud, Duluth, WMU, then UND/Den fighting for 4th place in NCHC.
  16. Damn, wish I had seen this at 7:00.
  17. You put it well, AJS. After we got to OT I was just hoping for the tie so could claim a good weekend at home but the way we were buzzing their net halfway thru the OT I thought WTH, get the win baby! Not to be though, we settle for a split at home. And it will be damn tough to get a sweep in Den, that just about never happens. Will just be hoping to salvage a split out there.
  18. You nailed it on the head, injuries to forwards be damned. There's no way we should have been held scoreless until the 57th minute mark or lost that game had we had a few forwards who could finish/had more offensive creativity-skill.
  19. I saw that too and thought WTF?! You can get away with that, a crosscheck to the side of the guys head. Man.
  20. I'm a big football and hockey fan both and the NFL outdraws/generates revenue way more than NHL buy a huge margin so I'm not sure anybody should really be surprised by this. Let's face it, while hockey may be bigger around the world than American football, that sure as hell ain't the case here in the states.
  21. I didn't see you as trolling, thought you came off as fair game/good questions. Yup, NDSU and UND very proud and strong D-2 pgms prior to going D-1. During the D-2 era they fared much better than the two SD schools but that has certainly changed now in the D-1 era (especially for NDSU the last several years and now for UND the last few years). As you maybe know, UND went to the Big Dance perhaps 3-4 years ago (?) but now that seems long ago based on the last few years.
  22. I think though if this atrocious shooting continues this season that Brewster might me just a bit on the hot seat this season but, if not, then surely next season when Klabo and Morton (decent player, high energy, but not a consistent scorer) are both gone it could well be a very, very lean year for UND lady hoops. Then for sure Brewster would and should be on the HOT seat.
  23. The Goofer faithful were really coming down on Lucia the last few years but, in retrospect, the guy may have been doing a miracle job based on their performance this season. Who would of thunk?
  24. Hmm, 2 straight losses for UMD but WMU is a very worthy opponent as we well know.
  25. Nice, nice win tonight (didn't get to see it though, office Christmas party) but looking at the stats if we don't get more than 16 - 18 SOG tomorrow I think our chance of winning is at best 20%. I realize we were up 3-0 an obviously in defensive mode but that's gotta improve tomorrow night if we're to have a chance.
