  1. Not that this could have a known answer, but how would you ticket this event? I'm not going to pay $250 a person to go see this other league play games between the NCHC's games. If you start pushing up prices, there's no way you get that 100% capacity. I love hockey and watch a bunch of non-Sioux games each year, but on TV, not on my dime...
  2. No mention of what the Wild did to the Blues on Saturday? I only go to watch a little over 2 periods before heading to the TC, but that was a needed win -
  3. Well, we did have this photo evidence for both of you:
  4. They would've had plenty of room to find a seat During the Championship game, we sat all over the arena. Everything from behind the St. Cloud bench in the 1st, to behind the Miami goalie in the 3rd. With Sioux fans still outnumbering the fans of the schools playing, I think the staff was just happy to have people still in the building and just kind of let us go wherever.
  5. Agreed completely. That smell... ick. It was better than last year, but sitting close to the ice on a corner was a huge issue as the glass is so bad, you can't see through it to the other end. Row K (11th row) put my eyes pretty level with the top of the glass. I could see fine in our end, but when the play went up ice, I could only make out shapes with no chance of seeing a puck. What was actually better was the ushers and staff in general. They were a major peeve of mine last year. The wrist bands are still stupid - since essentially only UND fans come anyway, just let everyone with a ticket into the venue. There's not enough selling of seats for the other games to even matter. Handing out wrist bands was dumber yet, as you've now made your "protection against unauthorized reentry" null. If I wanted to sell my ticket (or give it away), I just hand the wristband over with it. What a waste.
  6. Just voted for Zane LOL, is it just me, or does Kero's picture look like someone just insulted his girlfriend? Still, pretty cool to have 2 former Force players in the 10 finalists this year.
  7. Most of the offense actually comes from the writer, not what he wrote. Check out his Twitter feed some time if you want to see why many here are bothered by him. Looking forward to a good game on Friday. As for you being surrounded by us, well, yeah, you will be, ha-ha! Fortunately, we tend to be a pretty fun-loving group - just don't judge us based on the few bad apples (every fan base has some), and we'll extend you the same courtesy
  8. Exactly on SCSU - playing a team for the 6th time in a season is rarely a good thing (unless it's CC).
  9. Anyone know who was visiting last weekend? I came through the stairwell just as Barry whisked a kid and father downstairs to the locker room on Sat night. Didn't get a very good look at the kid other than to say he appeared tall, lighter hair, and had "2015" on the tail of his hoodie, like he's a HS senior this year. Had to be pretty cool to get down to the team as they celebrated sweeping CC and the Penrose presentation!
  10. I think you kind of finished your own thread - not much to add to this list until we have something to tie logo ideas to
  11. Driving Friday, so hopefully the weather is good!
  12. That was a nice recovery after Josi hung those 2 on them. Dumba's postgame interview was funny - he was clearly nervous as heck, but when asked about that OT goal, he talked about Parise heading up ice and "they were having to wait for me to try to catch up". He's made great strides this year, and considering he's only 20, should only get better.
  13. Ah, the view from the South Lounge. Back when that rail used to be sold as season tickets instead of renting the lounge out for private parties, I spent many a Force game hanging out in there. And it's true; there's not a bad seat in the place.
  14. What stands out are the big swings for Miami and St Cloud from year 1 to year 2. Which series do I most look forward to? St. Cloud. Always competitive and close geographic proximity. Road trip I really need to make is Omaha, although I'll have to allow 2 extra days for weather I predict the big jump for year 3 will be Western Michigan. More consistent goalie play and a dynamic scorer away from competing with the top teams, IMO.
  15. Let's be honest, taking out the politics/religion/personalities, neither of them is NFL caliber. Tebow left after a day in Phili and isn't likely to catch on with a team. Sam couldn't make a roster last year, and unless something changes, isn't likely to make one this year. Purely based on play and comparable to other players in the same positions, they just don't measure up.
  16. Thank you for that tidbit! I'd had a bit of a crazy day, but now I get to leave the office with a smile and a laugh
  17. I'd have to respectfully disagree. Do you remember the pitchers he had to work with? Not to mention (except I will) how many guys he had to start who were batting under .220, but there weren't better options. No manager does well with those rosters, but I think he did better than should have been expected.
  18. I agree with pretty much everything you said here. As much as I enjoyed 7th/McGovern's/Tom Reid's, and as down as I've been about the condition of the TC, I'm still going back this year - and will be taking a different approach in trying not to compare so much. Last year was all about "I wonder how this will stack up?", but this year the tourney will have a better chance of standing on it's own.
  19. Finish it off tonight 6-1 Sioux win. CC will push, turn feisty, then crumble.
  20. CC's been on an upswing lately. That said, the Sioux are too strong, too talented. Tonight the tighter of the 2 games; Sioux win 3-1. OD scores just to make sure.
  21. This^^ The Southgate has a good cross section of people, but if you're looking for whoo girls and shots, probably head downtown. Is Saturday afternoon bingo at Southgate? I remember going in there when we used to take their bus, and one of the days had bingo going on when we would arrive. That was not a fired up atmosphere (to me) while we got a bite to eat before taking the bus over. That was also 2 or so years ago - we stopped taking their bus when it left us, and about a half dozen others, at the Ralph once...
