I sometimes wonder if the portal path is used by some players to quit and not say they are quitting. they go to another college (or not) with the intent of not playing anymore.

2 points in the last 4 minutes. took a lot of tough shots.

Not sure if this is posted elsewhere, but Interesting how the transfer portal affected the MVFC All Newcomer Team. SIU did well. https://fightinghawks.com/documents/2023/11/27/2023_MVFC_All-Newcomer_Team.pdf

who are the promising freshmen from last spring's class?
-
Sac State 9.1 yards per passing; 8.0 per rush

Regarding the use of the 3-4 defense I think the linemen and linebackers need to be bigger. a couple of the linebackers need to be in the 245-250 range. The current roster shows the biggest at 235 (2 guys). Some of the DE's are at 245, also too small for FCS football. Also regarding the roster, it lists several players as Graduate, 5th year, and Seniors. Since covid messed things up, which of these players have eligibility available after this year?

Not sure if this has been reported on this forum before but due to its recent defections, the PAC 12 conference will now rename itself to the Pac-It-In Conference. (I read this in a Portland OR newspaper website.................I just couldn't resist.................)

looks like Sueker didn't play. Injured?
-
one of them is size. other teams always seem to have stronger/bigger players in the low post.

has anyone heard any word about which of the class of 2022 freshmen showed promise? I think Caden Dennis was a true freshman. anyone else?
-
is there a list somewhere that shows how many seasons each in-coming transfer has to play?
-
I probably should have put my original question in the 2022-2033 thread. Moderators please move if you wish. regarding defenses packing it in I would like to see Norman and Eaglestaff on the floor as much as possible.
-
with this being the end of the non-conference games, what is everyone's opinion on the state of the team? I see some promising players who need some time to develop.
-
agree with pull the main players. Omot, etc. give some of them an opportunity to work on things they need to improve.

Moody is second on the griz in PPG. started all the games he has played (7). Bruns has started 3 of 10 games. averaging 10.9 PPG. I thought his brother was also supposed to be on the team. Is that for next year? Ihenacho has played 3 games for James Madison. Heard he was hurt or something. in those 3 games he is averaging almost exactly half the minutes he played at UND.

15 for 27 at the free throw line. Have to do better. Also, who is the real point guard for this team? is it by committee?
-
18 turnovers to 7 for Seattle.
-
Shooters need time to warm up. he was just getting going...

Hudl page shows nice numbers as far as I know. Seems to be him. https://www.google.com/search?q=trey+patrick+hudl&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS983US983&oq=trey+patrick+hudl+&aqs=chrome..69i57.3393j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Just curious regarding some comments mentioned above about coaches suggesting a player leave. Is this something that typically happens in college athletics or is it a byproduct of the new transfer rules?
-
was looking to see how many players return to their original school but haven't found anything yet. did find this which gives some detail on the process: https://gmtm.com/articles/how-does-the-ncaa-transfer-portal-work one thing of note is that once a player enters the portal they can lose their scholarship at their original school.

I don't see Ihenacho in the James Madison stats page. is he injured or something?
-
which of the 2022 freshman class have shown promise?
-
all year there were a lot of yards gained after initial contact. defense needs to get bigger and stronger.
-
in looking at the game notes 15 of the 22 on the defensive 2-deep list are junior/senior/grad students. Considering how they played it can be assumed that the sophomores and lower weren't able to supplant many of them. For those of you who know football better than me, how do you fix this defense? Also, should discussion about the incoming freshmen class be in a separate thread? I would like to know who, other than Caden Dennis, shows promise amongst the incoming freshmen.
