  1. one pitfall of transferring is that you then put yourself back in the pool of available players along with incoming freshmen, so you are vying for spots with a larger group of players. . it looks like the NCAA is looking at this issue: https://theathletic.com/news/ncaa-d-i-council-approves-1-year-signing-limits-waiver-to-account-for-transfers/rO2GwQvo6YDt/
  2. The pendulum in college athletics swung from one extreme to another. First the schools had autonomy on how transferring was done. Now the players have virtual autonomy. A more equitable solution must be found. Perhaps one where once an athlete signs at a school, he/she can transfer and play immediately at another school but without scholarship. This would only apply to transferring to a school at the same level or higher than originally signed. As things are now athletes are using lower level D1 and D2 schools as proving grounds instead of junior colleges. I suppose this will never happen but I think it would be better than the chaos that exists now.
  3. I thank all of you who provided commentary during the games this year. It is much appreciated. As for next year, Omot and Eaglestaff should provide more balanced shooting. Won't have to worry as much about one guy having an off night, and hopefully alleviate the scoring droughts that occurred. I'd like to see more height and strength inside as to me it always seemed like other teams had someone stronger and bigger. Good luck in life to those seniors who are leaving.
  4. If Omot is the recruit, would he be a perimeter player or inside? some of the videos show him hitting 3's. With Bruns, Eaglestaff and Omot there would be much better outside shooting than this year.
  5. A question related to this one - is recruit signing more of a year long process? It used to be signees were just in February. Now with the portal it seems they can transfer whenever they want. Can they still transfer after spring practice, etc.?
  6. good job by the whole team. thanks to all of you who provided updates. much appreciated.
  7. if they could make some 3 point shots they would win a few games.
  8. other teams like working the ball down low. UND can't stop them. several games now UND came out shooting terribly and falling way behind.
  9. this is probably close. certainly aren't many D1 shooters on the team.
  10. UND needs to get stronger inside. the last 2 games they have been outmuscled inside.
  11. Bruns with only 4 shots. need to get him more involved.
  12. thanks for all of the updates.
  13. got it. thanks for the info.
  14. when I try to connect to the video all i get is the black screen. is there something special I have to do? i've tried 2 computers.
  15. is the video link working for everyone?
  16. With the transfer departures and arrivals, along with the new HS recruits, any estimate on how many scholarships UND has remaining? It was mentioned in an earlier post that there are numerous players remaining in the portal.
  17. thanks for the write-up. I appreciate these articles and the in-game updates.
  18. UND has scored 5 points since to 9:50 mark of the 2nd half.
  19. thanks for all the updates.
  20. it seems like a few years ago when realignment for the Dakota/Montana schools was discussed there was the issue of (possibly from the Montana schools) having a southern or at least California presence for recruiting. I know the Montana schools usually have a decent number of Cali players on their teams. Would this be an issue going forward and if so, which other schools would be good for the conference?
  21. I think this game went about as I expected. UND has several new players who need a few games to get their rhythm going. Mayville probably has most of their players from last year. I thought UND would win but not by much.
  22. thanks for the updates
  23. CBSSPORTS.COM has an article about how 8 of the 20 starters in the Final Four are transfers. It's at the start of this article. there are a few stories bunched together: https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/a-life-saving-story-behind-baylors-final-four-run-how-a-kidney-donor-on-bears-staff-helped-a-friend-in-need/
  24. I was trying to find it also but ended up getting the espn+, disney+, hulu bundle.
