  1. Like someone said they had 5 opportunities, have to get a few first downs and keep the clock running. A wildcat may be the answer since it was Studs who often converted a 3rd down by using his legs. Also we need to find a quarterback in the future that has consistency and accuracy. We currently have a a couple of backs expecially Santiago that can carry us on the ground, but no pass accuracy to back up a long situation. I do wonder what happened to Georges that he wasn't able to come out on the last drive.
  2. I thought after they blew the lead last week they surely would step up and not do it again. I was wrong. They needed to do what they did a few times earlier in the year, 6-8 minute drives to eat up the clock in the 4th.
  3. That really does need to come back. I haven't seen the intro yet this year, but I think it should be built into the intro. But my thoughts are that a intro is alot more dramatic when the atmosphere quickly changes, for example lights go off, music gets louder, and video goes on. It needs to be coordinated well to work.
  4. UND students learn the Hockey traditions by going to the games and having the same thing happen every game. After a couple of games they catch on. The first few games every year the freshman aren't involved but then they learn. Football has no traditions to start with it seems for students any more. It needs to start with gameday production. If every year the intro song and things are different its hard for students to get a tradition in for that similar to what they do with In the Air Tonight at the Ralph. They get pumped up to it because they know its time for UND HOCKEY, just like VT gets pumped to Enter Sandman.
  5. Students like the experience, if they aren't able to drink in the student section they want some way to have fun. If you look at schools with large student sections they normally have fun routines, that may look odd to some people but not to the students. There just doesn't seem to be much other than 3rd downs to get the students involved(and even that was getting tiring last year when 3rd downs were being converted against us and Montana ending). Dance cams, or some student cams or something to get them to notice something other than sit on their phones in between plays. I think some schools even enlists some students to lead chants and such in the student section(not cheer leaders who do the typical U-N-D chant on the sidelines). That said I still am disappointed in the students for not attending, especially mid day games. Late enough to sleep in and early enough that parties have not started. This is a 4-1 team that is Ranked 25/23. If the team is able to play exciting football and pull out wins at home it will bring students. All it takes is one student saying he had a blast and the game was great to be at and the word spreads like fire. Students can watch the action on TV if there isn't anything to get them involved, so there needs to give them a reason to see it in person.
  6. Someone has back to back regional this year. But I think UND wants to change things up. There were plenty of people that wanted tickets last year and couldn't get them. the Denny Stanford is a nice arena, and Sioux Falls has alot of UND fans. The place sold out multiple times for the Stampede(USHL) last year and have a little history with UND coaches and players. Also within 3 hours of Omaha and Mankato, and I believe the airport is more accessible than Fargo (flights to Minneapolis, and Denver) Edit: Cincinnati (Miami) will host two regional in a row
  7. I know in past years the entrance video was put online, is it this year?
  8. I think they expected more fans to want to go to these if they had 2 games within an hour of each other. Smarter move may have been Grand Forks, and Sioux Falls. That way there was more reason to attend Fridays game as people wouldn't be able to drive an hour on saturday to see them. Instead Friday night will be High School football for many fans. That and even the social media posts haven't gotten very far in promoting. I follow both rinks, as well as IA and MN wild pages and don't even see anything on my news feed except from Scheels Arena sponsored post. The Radio also didn't cover it much from what I hear, the one I spoke to said its hard to promote games if there isn't anything to give away. Giveaways make promotions fun and more than just a paid Ad is what I was told.
  9. Yes, Andrew Macwilliam was just sent down to Manitoba from the Jets, so he will be playing most likely. There is a good chance he will play against Mike Reilly for Iowa, unless Reilly really impresses and gets the start in Minnesota.
  10. I have been out of town for every home game so far this year, I know I will make a few coming up. If there intro video is that bad this year that is a big step back, they had a good video last year and I think I remember lights being off. Gameday experience is one thing that brings fans to the game especially if they are not students. There needs to be more going on besides ads during the TV timeouts etc than there was last year. GW Gear was the UND apparel seller last year in the Alerus, I do know their sign is still up on the Columbia ave mini mall near Hugos, but there website hasn't had anything new in awhile so I do not know if they are still in business.
  11. http://www.theralph.com/events/detail/ahl-preseason-game Sorry been trying to log in all afternoon, i always browse but never post as I had forgotten my password and didn't use the Forgot password link till now. I bought my tickets for row 2 along Wild double attack blueline at student rate. There has been very little promotion for this and there is no reason this game shouldn't atleast have the lower bowl full. Glass seats are only $30 for students and I believe everyone.
  12. Actually I think the Sioux Falls Pheasants are now the Sioux Falls Canaries again.
  13. Eh, I know of people that don't call themselves NDSU fans, who attend NDSU games as it gives them a football game to see as that is pretty much what Fargo has, as well as other schools alumni, and people who go to MSU-Morehead. One of the major problems with UND is the Alerus Center, where I don't feel it is terrible, alot of people don't like it for football, I don't see that as a valid excuse. The problem that really arises is the fact that it is off-campus, and majority of the students in dorms do not have cars, so they would have to take a shuttle to the game, and even though I don't live on campus, I never was aware of the schedule or pickup locations of the shuttle. The attendance did start dropping after the hockey season started, and yes hockey did start 1st weekend of October, so nice try saying its a winter sport that wasn't started yet. If you don't believe hockey is the main sport here or that what people care about you have never been on campus here even for a moment. Most houses on campus have hockey flags, window decals, etc. Students will stand outside before 8am for a 7:37 game in freezing temperatures. There is a massive waiting list(last I heard) for season tickets. I believe each game had 800 non-season single tickets released per policy(besides holiday games, where students tickets are sold to general public), and they are ussually sold out quickly. Almost of the students talk about hockey, and there are alot of students that came from schools in the Cities where hockey was their main sports, and football wasn't huge there. Even the people who I talked to that were here before 2001 said the reason they went to the football games mainly was something to do before the hockey game right next door that night.
  14. In any of the sports I played growing up, a road game was playing against a team in their home environment. Many of the championship games, and a select few games during the year were played on a Neutral site, being that where neither team is used to that environment, not giving one team a advantage or not.
  15. Yet their game with a Coastal Carolina was close, who I heard from NDSU fans saying before the game that they shouldn't even been a top 10 team if not lower.
  16. Some NDSU guy on the KVLY coverage of the NDSU halftime said that they are certainly looking forward to and excited for the NDSU vs Sioux game. Yes he actually said Sioux.
  17. The TV commentator should be our spokesman for the Nickname, he isn't afraid to be sued for saying Fighting Sioux
  18. Weren't you one in the other thread saying you don't care about the UND games, and this and that, yet you kept commenting on it. So you just claimed you cared.
  19. I saw a bunch of people in Fargo after the game buying Panthers apparel.

I do believe these "safe treat" locations are a big part of it. These locations are supposed to be verified safe, and many keeps them out of the cold weather while also having plenty of candy given in one location. I believe even the Canad had a trick or treat event. The media has also made it worse, making it seem like there is a ton of danger going out, and that candy has been laced, or opened.
  21. I heard Standing Rock majority, but the chairman has the final say and has yet to approve or deny, he just been mute. Once the approval is given from him their will be major news if NCAA doesn't follow their agreement which was the 2 tribes.
  22. The way his post came off was very childish, especially with that lol at the end. For not being a rivalry they sure do troll harder then Gopher diehards.
  23. When they play each other those fans won't be chearing for both. I'm sure most of them will pull out the UND green.
  24. Quite a few, even in the student section. I have yet to see any Gopher apparel at a UND hockey game this year. When NDSU falls off their high horse you will see alot of people that are immediately not as big of fan of NDSU. Example was Boston College in hockey, when they were dominant a few years ago, you rarely heard of Boston U fans besides at the Beanpot game, until the last 2 years when BC was no longer the top overall team
