Last year, was never more up this team than after they pounded Sac St on the road. Thought playoffs were imminent. Sac St went on to a horrible finish. But now, after a coaching change, Sac St might be the best in the Sky. Their only two losses were to Ariz St and Fresno St by under two touchdowns, they have demolished other lower BSC teams, and have beaten EWU and MSU. A coaching change obviously paid big dividends. Granted, ISU just might be better than anyone thought, but coaching can pay dividends.

UST has a much higher enrollment and endowment than Providence, which has made waves in MBB and hockey, and about the same as Marquette and Creighton. That's the company they want. They don't have varsity yet, but presume they would add them. One article said they would have 22 sports. Hamline and Augsburg have W lax now, as they just added them. It would make sense for UST to add DI lax, beating the Gophers to the sport, and getting a Big East berth eventually, and just non scholarship football to maintain their fb rivalry with St Johns and ease costs.

Put them above Drake or Evansville now, so the MVC will gladly take them. Put them above most Horizon schools, so the Horizon would back flip in joy. UST has so many advantages over the Dakotas even now. Sure that UST won't take the cheap way. Even in the Big East, it's not hard to be better than DePaul. UST will get at least lax bids in the Big East eventually, like Denver has.

Totally disagree. Any of the Dakotas could win, but they aren't going anywhere. Loyola of Chi hadn't won a dance game for fifty years but they promised to upgrade that program and the MVC lucked out with a Final Four. It's all about TV market. PFW hasn't even gotten to the Dance ever but it has been upgraded. UST would be upgraded too with several times the TV market. The MVC so values private schools over public its preferential treatment with lower standards for privates. Ill-Chi and Milwaukee were probably better choices for the MVC over Loyola but they didn't even get a look.

Total brain fart. UAH would be a part. Austin Peay only has about 10k students and a low endowment of $20 mill. The thinking could be Nashville would be receptive to college hockey. There other public schools in Nashville metro like Middle Tennesse St, which is FBS, and Tenn St, which absorbed Tenn-Nashville. APSU can't afford a higher level FBS team and can barely afford scholarship FCS, so if the arena is paid for, hockey might doable.

Augie will get in eventually. The MVC needs private schools to expand as only St Louis, the A-10 is a more exclusive league, Belmont, not interested yet, Detroit, too far, are on its candidate list. It needs a private to go with public Murray St. UST will probably stay in for only its transition and then depart, like UNK did when it went to the Horizon. Both the Horizon and MVC have rules forbidding DII moveups directly. UST will have unheard of opportunities because leagues want the MSP market. UST only has to build an arena near campus.

Minot State only moved from NAIA to DII so they could take hockey DI IMHO. They would have stayed NAIA if they valued club hockey. Almost nothing has been successful at DII, but they still on to the DI hockey dream.

Believe WIU heads to the OVC like EIU and SIUE did. Still maintain that UMKC and ORU go to the FBS WAC as non fb schools.
