  1. http://www.pvpanthers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=1176&path=wvball Magda would have to sit out the year.
  2. Mo St's President says he hasn't been in contact with the Sun Belt. JMU turned the Sun Belt down. Guess bisonville has to drop about fantasies about leaving the Slummit. Liberty may get a call from the Sun Belt.
  3. What year is that in your fantasy? The MVC gets like $5 mill a year from Bball and the Summit gets about $1.2 mill. The Wichita State run has four more years of money left. The Summit has to get Sweet 16 teams for multiple years in a row to even be in the same league.
  4. Dorn is the one that is "classy". She only wants candidates that bat "her" and Amy's way and rejects the others if they don't pass the sniff test. That's real equal opportunity. Dorn runs the women's department, which is a guarantee UND will be miles ahead.
  5. If you haven't gotten the drift, Dorn likes and demands coaches from the isle of Lezbo. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Just the NDSU way.
  6. They'll have 13 for FB and BB. They lose W Ky this year (lost FIU, FAU, Mid Tn, Tx before) and will gain the following FCS teams: App St Ga St Ga S JMU Mo St Idaho and NMSU are affiliates in football and UALR and UTA play non-football sports.
  7. Rumors are that Mo St and JMU are gone to FBS Sun Belt. Have speculating on this before, but FCS is losing more name teams. We play Mo St, including in 2017 when they would be fully FBS.
  8. Idaho's entrance / exit agreement with the Sun Belt: http://freepdfhosting.com/0dfe5b6e2f.pdf
  9. I explained this a billion times but some people are so dumb to listen. The Sun Belt didn't want the MVC or CAA merging with the WAC. Nor does it want Idaho as a permanent partner. So it agreed to Idaho's plan to make the Big Sky FBS down the road and gains a couple million in fees from the Big Sky. The Sun Belt doesn't have to deal with another FBS league in its backyard. Ergo: Mo St, James Madison, Delaware, E Kentucky eastern FCS teams have to bargain with the Sun Belt to go FBS. It's a brilliant deal for Idaho to get a regional FBS league and the Sun Belt to avoid a another regional league. There will be at least 8 Big Sky FBS teams, maybe as much as 14. It makes sense for the Big Sky because they know FCS is dying. When the Big Sky goes FBS, the FCS will be truly a niche regional sport and not national. For Bison fans, I can understand the grief that this will cause them.
  10. I would have been, otherwise Saul Phillips would have committed career suicide. NDSU has nothing next year and may be fighting to keep out of the Summit cellar for two or three years. Saul had no choice but to take a job if it was offered: the chances of attracting talent like Bjorkman, Braun, and Wright to NDSU again are slim.
  11. Saul will move as soon as some low level school waives $300 G's in front of him. NDSU basketball has no future for at least three years and Saul knows it (and that's assuming decent recruits are coming to a barren cupboard). If he wants his career to advance, he's got to take the next offer.Same thing happened with Bohl - he had to move on or be stuck at bizonville forever with no career aspirations. Wife would have killed him. Wyoming was the perfect place for him because his past wouldn't be dug up because Wyoming has no investigative press.
  12. The Vikings stadium new stadium is also configured for baseball and soccer and lacrosse and hockey and basketball. It will get a lot of February and March dates from regional college baseball teams, probably including UND, just like the MetroDome was. http://blogs.citypag...umb-560x349.jpg
  13. The lacrosse conference world is now very difficult for UND to break into. The Big Ten lacrosse conference starts next year with these teams: Michigan Ohio St Penn St Maryland Rutgers Johns Hopkins I kind of expect Minnesota to start lacrosse in a few years. They could actually play a few games in the new Vikings stadium until April when they would switch to TCF. Pro indoor lacrosse has been popular in the Cities and those HS kids playing would flock to UofMinn lax games. Denver has joined the Big East in lacrosse this year. That leaves Air Force as the lone western team looking for a western conference, but in the mean time they will be joining an east coast league too like in hockey. If and when USC and Stanford start a western league with Air Force and a couple of other teams is the question. That lax league would be superior in status to WAC baseball, which is the highest we can hope for in baseball. I believe the Big Sky is heading for FBS, and there isn't room for more men's scholarships if that happens.
  14. Minnesota, Iowa, Iowa St, Nebraska and Wisconsin would all practically fill the new Vikings stadium just from local alumni if UND hosted them as part of home - neutral arrangement.
  15. NEVER said UND would get an FBS invite in and of itself. The Big Sky has finangled to move up as part of a deal with Idaho.and the Sun Belt. UND will.be an undeserved beneficiary. MEANWHILE, bison fans perpetually bash the Big Sky, which is the one conference that could.have elevated FU from a provincial FCS STATUS that Fargo desperately wants out of. Too late. FCS doesn't have a future except increasing irrelevancy.
  16. NDSU doesn't have any offers.except.maybe the WAC, who will anyone invite west of Chicago St. March hasn't changed anything. Other than the WAC, no one has an interest regardless what NDSU fans say. THE MAC would invite a ton of schools.before FU (Albany. STONY Brook, UNH, Delaware, JMU, Ill St, Mo St, and.the whole.eastern Sun Belt.and.CUSA). NDSU will have to wait til.Fargo passes.1 million and.has a bigger stadiuM. Florida Gulf Coast couldn't parlay two.wins into conference invites: and.they have the population to create interest. NDSU is stuck in the Slummit for.the long term.
  17. When the Big Sky goes FBS, UND needs to remain the only Dakota school in the Big Sky. NDSU has become fat and happy off high FCS recruits and preferred.walk ons from BIg Ten states (Minn and Wisconsin). UND would get first dibs on those recruits and couldn't afford NDSU and SDSU as an FBS competitors watering down the recruiting base. NDSU and SDSU seem pleased with the Slummit: let them.stay there. FBS is a big jump: no need to water down the recruits.
  18. NDSU would.have to move their campus to Minneapolis to have a shot. Still believe JMU and Delaware are.talking to the MAC. UMASS values the A10 over the MAC and why wouldn't they. The A10 had 5 teams make it to.the Dance and Dayton made the Sweet.16. UMAss with try to.get in the American with UConn.
  19. The Interim AD after Roger Thomas (forget his name) used to talk about how if UND went DI, it should go all the way to FBS. Gene Roebuck used to say the same. They also said the west - either the Big Sky or WAC - was where we needed to be. UND has had talks with the Montana's and Idaho going back a generation about what a future conference would look like. UND has been on the same page as the Montana's for that long. It just took some unusual circumstances for the other Big Sky (and even WAC) teams to get there. UND has a cash cow (hockey), facilities, track record of patience, and academics that make it someone you can rely on. UND's patience is in contrast with Smokin Joe. The oil boom just ensures that UND will have the ability to financially compete and be around for those schools to partner with. North Dakota isn't a poor backward state any more but a wealthy place like Connecticut, but it takes time for that to sink in to residents who are survived by resorting to 30's thinking. The delay in going DI had more strategic reasons than commonly realized, but UND is finally poised to leap forward.
  20. Indiana, Purdue, Ind St, Ball St, Notre Dame, Butler, Evansville, Valpo, IPFW, IUPUI. Seven conferences represented. It's normal for Indiana to have 4-6 schools dancing. At least the Pacers are doing well!
  21. I do too. I also like UNC's chance at knocking off Weber. Montana seemed like it was a bad matchup for us.
  22. I would hope that the game tomorrow would have at least 2500. Its before the hockey game so fans can go to both.
  23. Idaho State bussed to Grand Forks according to their message board. To fly out of Poky is only small regionals, so mostly they have to bus to Salt Lake and then fly to Fargo or maybe MSP. ISU stayed last night in Bismarck. ISU doesn't have much to spend on airfare, especially with a few days notice, but guess ISU would have spent the money if airplane seats were there.
  24. I'm not going to provide anything, as you NDSU fans would start a letter writing campaign to the NCAA to stop the Big Sky. Best you stay your normal clueless.
  25. Kind of like when you said UND would never go DI and, if they did, UND would never get in the Big Sky. I got all kinds of grief from Bisonville on that, and you were one of the lead cheerleaders. I was right in the end, as always. The response from Bisonville will be an historic meltdown of the interwebs when UND goes FBS and NDSU is left behind. I can practically hear the wailing and nashing of bison teeth!!!
